PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

The Communications Specialist leads the execution of Red Bull Ireland’s communications activity, bringing the brand to life through compelling storytelling and memorable media experiences. Reporting to the Head of Media Network, this role delivers communications plans across culture, sport and brand initiatives, in line with the overall business strategy.

 

Working collaboratively with internal teams and external partners, the Communications Specialist drives earned media activations and develops creative experiences that excite and inspire. They ensure consistent, on-brand messaging across all touchpoints and play a hands-on role in translating strategy into communications that build awareness, relevance and affinity for Red Bull.

 

The role leads the day-to-day delivery of earned media activity for events, athletes, artists, content projects and product initiatives, building and maintaining strong relationships with Irish media across sport, news and culture. Through strong coordination, creativity and attention to detail, the Communications Specialist helps ensure Red Bull stories are experienced, shared and amplified authentically across the Irish media landscape.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Communications Execution & Storytelling

  • Lead execution of earned media activations that drive positive conversation about Red Bull
  • Identify news-worthy opportunities and compelling storylines that appeal to an 18-24 y.o. audience
  • Translate marketing initiatives, events and ideas into engaging media stories, campaigns and experiences that drive positive word-of-mouth
  • Work with external partners to support media outreach, content delivery and events within agreed budgets



Media Relations

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with Irish media
  • Identify and prioritise key "Media That Matter" to maximise earned media impact and relevance

 

Market Insight & Collaboration

  • Act as the eyes and ears of the brand by monitoring media & trends
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams
  • Support alignment with HQ by sharing local insights, learnings and best practices
  • Contribute to innovation in communications execution by testing new approaches, formats and platforms including seeking out earned social media coverage to drive big and bold awareness



Measurement & Evaluation

  • Track and review earned media performance against agreed objectives and KPIs
  • Analyse coverage, sentiment and impact
  • Share learnings and insights with internal teams to inform future activity
  • Apply insights to refine approaches, improve execution and strengthen future outcomes



Education and Experience

  • An established communications professional with strong relationships across the Irish media landscape
  • 3 years’ experience in Communications, PR in Marketing or Media led companies
  • Experience executing projects and securing reach & engagement via earned media amplification

 

Skills & Knowledge

  • Strategic mindset for positioning initiatives to drive message pull-through via earned media
  • Strong storytelling instinct, with the ability to identify stories that have genuine media potential
  • Personable, confident and comfortable building and maintaining media relationships
  • A collaborative team player who works effectively across internal teams and external partners
  • Passion for and strong affinity with the worlds of sport and culture
