Lead the social-first strategy and create engaging digital content to support communications and content operations at a fast-growing Canadian tech company with a mission that matters.

Our team at Blackline Safety is growing! As a people-driven technology company, with a mission to make sure every worker returns home safely, we drive innovation, practice resiliency, demonstrate leadership, go the extra mile for our customers, and empower our people to be their best.

We’re a fast-growing Canadian tech company with bold ambitions, a strong mission, and a team that’s passionate about making a real impact. If you’re energized by storytelling, digital creativity and helping shape a brand with purpose, this is the place to do it.

About the role

We’re looking for a Communications & Digital Engagement Specialist to bring our story to life across digital channels, support corporate and internal communications, and help keep our content operations running smoothly.

You’ll lead our social-first strategy, create compelling digital content, showcase our achievements through awards, support internal alignment across the company, and help organize our content and creative workflow. You’ll be a key connector — ensuring our voice is consistent, our channels are vibrant, and our communications are timely and effective.

This is a great opportunity for a creative, detail-driven communicator who loves storytelling as much as they love organization and follow-through.

What You’ll Do

Social and Digital Engagement Strategy

  • Lead a social-first strategy rooted in where our audiences show up, how they engage, and what captures their attention
  • Build channel-native content — ideas designed specifically for LinkedIn, Instagram and emerging platforms
  • Translate editorial themes and campaigns into compelling posts, visuals, short videos, and storytelling built for modern social spaces
  • Manage day-to-day publishing, scheduling and community engagement
  • Track performance and audience insights to continually optimize what and how we share
  • Collaborate closely with our Content Manager to ensure social acts both as a standalone channel and an amplifier of larger stories and campaigns

Corporate & Internal Communications Support

  • Support internal communications, including intranet posts, employee stories, leadership messages and company announcements
  • Manage the awards pipeline — gathering materials, drafting submissions, coordinating reviews, and tracking deadlines
  • Support PR and media activity by drafting releases, coordinating with our PR partners, and monitoring coverage
  • Assist with communications packages for product launches, events, etc.

Content Operations & Workflow Coordination

  • Coordinate the flow of content and creative work through our project board
  • Maintain timelines, status updates and stakeholder alignment so projects move smoothly
  • Ensure assets, approvals and deliverables are on track and communicated clearly
  • Help maintain structure within our content system and editorial calendar
  • Provide operational support that enables writers, designers and marketers to focus on high-value work

What You Bring

  • 4–5+ years of experience in communications, digital marketing, social media or a related field
  • Strong writing and editing skills, with an ability to adapt tone for different audiences and channels
  • Hands-on experience building social media strategies and managing corporate accounts
  • Ability to translate complex or technical topics into simple, compelling stories
  • Strong organizational and coordination skills — you enjoy bringing clarity, structure and momentum to projects
  • A collaborative working style and interest in supporting teams across the organization
  • Familiarity with project management tools (Monday.com is a plus)
  • Experience in B2B tech is a bonus, but not required

What You’ll Love About Working Here

  • A mission that matters: your work directly contributes to keeping workers safe around the world
  • A fast-growing Canadian tech company where you can make an outsized impact
  • A collaborative Marketing team that values creativity, clarity and momentum
  • Flexibility, trust and support for doing your best work
  • Opportunities to grow your skills across digital, communications and brand
