Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Product Owner with a strong background in financial services and payment processing to lead the development, compliance, and optimization of our digital payment solutions.

This role will be instrumental in developing and scaling online financial products, ensuring seamless transactions, regulatory compliance, and user security. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in PCI compliance, EU/UK financial regulations, and payment gateway integrations. You will define product roadmaps, enhance security and fraud prevention mechanisms, and ensure compliance with evolving financial standards.

 

Key ResponsibilitiesProduct Development & Strategy

  • Lead the end-to-end development, scaling, and compliance of digital payment solutions and financial products.
  • Define and execute product roadmaps that align with industry standards, user needs, and regulatory requirements.
  • Optimize payment processing systems for security, fraud prevention, and compliance.
  • Drive innovation in financial technology, ensuring seamless and secure transactions for users.

Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure strict adherence to PCI DSS compliance, data security, and anti-fraud measures.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of UK/EU financial regulations, PSD2, Open Banking, and AML/KYC policies.
  • Work with compliance teams to implement best practices in risk management, identity verification, and data protection.

Financial Growth & Business Expansion

  • Develop scalable payment processing strategies that drive revenue growth and efficiency.
  • Identify new financial product opportunities and oversee their design, implementation, and expansion.
  • Collaborate with business teams to create new revenue models leveraging payments and financial services.

Collaboration & Execution

  • Work closely with engineering, compliance, risk, and finance teams to ensure the seamless operation of financial platforms.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), including transaction success rates, fraud mitigation, and customer retention.
  • Manage timelines, budgets, and resources effectively to meet strategic goals.

Industry Expertise & Market Insights

  • Stay ahead of emerging fintech trends, including real-time payments, blockchain, and AI-driven fraud detection.
  • Leverage expertise in payment gateway integrations, banking APIs, and chargeback management.
  • Identify and implement best-in-class security measures to protect user transactions and financial data.

 

Required Skills & Experience

  • Proven track record in payment processing, financial services, or fintech product management.
  • Strong knowledge of PCI DSS compliance, PSD2, Open Banking, AML/KYC regulations, and GDPR.
  • Experience in payment gateway integrations, banking APIs, and fraud prevention mechanisms.
  • Ability to analyze transaction data, optimize payment flows, and enhance user security.
  • Strong project management & leadership skills, with experience managing cross-functional teams.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to navigate a fast-paced, compliance-driven environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Computer Science, or a related field (Master’s degree is a plus).
