We are seeking a dedicated Commercial Accountant to play a pivotal role in maintaining the financial integrity of both the company and the broader group. As a member of our Finance Team, you will ensure the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting. Reporting directly to the Senior Commercial Accountant, you will collaborate closely to safeguard company assets and uphold accounting controls.
What you will do:
Accounting & Bookkeeping
Verify the accuracy of all Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) entries
Conduct weekly bank reconciliations
Prepare Technical Accounting Papers
Establish and recommend accounting policies and procedures to maintain controls
Treasury
Maintain daily updates on cash position reports
Ensure adequacy of bank account balances and prompt payment of credit cards
Develop spending forecasts for the organization
Payroll
Assist in bi-weekly payroll processing for timely and accurate salary payments
Address employee inquiries related to payroll matters
Collaborate with People Operations team to maintain payroll systems and ensure tax compliance
Fixed Asset
Record fixed asset purchases, depreciation, and write-offs accurately
Manage the fixed asset register
Collaborate with HR and Administration to tag company assets
Conduct bi-annual inventory counts
Month-End Closing Process
Post journal entries for accrued expenses, revenue, and prepayments
Ensure accurate recording of intercompany transactions
Reconcile credit card transactions and follow up on documentation
Prepare monthly account schedules and analyze accounts for Balance Sheet and Income Statement flux reports
Who you are:
CPA or equivalent accounting qualification preferred
Bachelor’s/College Degree in Finance/Accountancy or related field
1-3 years of relevant accounting experience
Experience in private company environments with cross-functional team collaboration
Highly organized with strong adherence to deadlines
Proficiency in cloud accounting software
Familiarity with International Financial Reporting Standards and Philippines Financial Reporting Standards
Experience in payroll processing and compliance with government regulations
Previous experience in fast-paced startup environments and multinational corporations
Experience in a Big 4 accounting firm is a plus
