Position Description

The CNS Nonproliferation Education Program is seeking one Graduate Research Assistant to support its education and outreach activities. The GRA will work closely with CNS Education Program staff to help coordinate and implement a range of education initiatives, including: 

  • Other education and outreach projects related to nonproliferation and disarmament 

This position primarily involves administrative and logistical support for education programs, with potential opportunities for research related to nonproliferation and disarmament education. 

We are especially interested in candidates who are enthusiastic about engaging younger generations—high school and college students—in disarmament and nonproliferation education. 

This is a student Level B position paying $17.45 per hour.

Requirements

  • Excellent writing, editing, and research skills in English 
  • Strong organizational and coordination skills 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel 
  • Experience with blogging platforms (e.g., WordPress) 
  • Experience using major social media platforms and tools (e.g., Instagram, Canva, Facebook, X, Google Sites) 

 

Preferred Qualifications (Highly Desirable)

  • Experience in K–12 education (teaching, curriculum development, or educational outreach) 
  • Familiarity with the U.S. education system (public and/or private high schools) 
  • Experience coordinating events (administrative and logistical support) 
  • Basic video editing skills 
  • Interest in nuclear disarmament and nonproliferation of weapons of mass destruction
