Job Summary:
The CNC Machinist is responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring 4-axis and/or 5-axis CNC milling machines to produce precision components that meet engineering specifications and quality standards. This role requires strong experience in tool identification, presetting, and working with complex multi-axis machining processes in a production or job-shop environment.
Responsibilities:
Set up and operate 4-axis and/or 5-axis CNC milling machines to manufacture precision parts
Identify, select, and install appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and workholding
Perform tool presetting, offsets, and tool length/radius adjustments
Load and verify CNC programs; make minor program edits as needed
Interpret blueprints, GD&T, work instructions, and CNC setup sheets
Conduct in-process inspections using precision measuring instruments
Monitor machine performance and adjust feeds, speeds, and offsets to optimize quality and cycle times
Troubleshoot machining issues related to tooling, fixtures, materials, or programs
Maintain accurate production and inspection documentation
Follow all safety, quality, and housekeeping standards
Perform routine machine maintenance and keep equipment in good working condition
