Key Responsibilities:
Program, set up, and operate 3-axis and 5-axis CNC mills (and routers) to kitand airbrush fiberglass & foam cores
Interpret complex engineering drawings, CAD models (e.g., SolidWorks, Fusion 360), and CAM files (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion, or NX) to produce accurate components to spec.
Collaborate with mechanical engineers, composites technicians, and systems integrators to ensure fit, function, and manufacturability of parts.
Select appropriate tooling, feeds, speeds, and fixturing strategies for high-accuracy work on composite materials.
Maintain CNC equipment, tools, and workspaces in a clean and safe condition.
Perform in-process quality checks and post-process inspections using calipers, micrometers, and other precision tools.
Contribute to ongoing process improvements in CNC workflows, fixture design, and composite part accuracy.
Qualifications:
Required:
3+ years of experience as a CNC programmer/operator at a high-rate boat building factory
Strong experience with CAM software (Fusion 360, Mastercam, NX, or equivalent)
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and GD&T
Comfortable working in a startup or fast-paced R&D environment
Strong attention to detail and self-motivation
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Ability to identify differences between different fiberglass types and designs
Preferred:
Familiarity with 5-axis machines and multi-axis toolpath strategies
Prior experience in the maritimecomposite manufacturing industries
