The role
The ideal CMS Business Analyst for Kin + Carta is an innovative, strategic problem solver, who has a passion for partnering with clients to drive functional and business analysis for content management system implementation projects. You will play a critical role in bridging the gap between client stakeholders and the design / development teams. We are looking for consultants who enjoy continuously learning and evolving the emerging technologies in the digital space.
Role responsibilities
- Work closely with client stakeholders to understand current system functionality and gather insights into future state goals.
- Define and document detailed functional requirements for the CMS project. Develop use cases, user stories, and workflow diagrams to articulate system processes. Collaborate with stakeholders to prioritize requirements and ensure alignment with project goals.
- Leverage your expertise in the Optimizely (or other CMS) platform(s) to design solutions that align with business objectives. Collaborate with the technical team to ensure seamless integration of Optimizely into the CMS project. Act as an advocate for user friendly and operationally efficient CMS approaches.
- Provide input on product roadmaps that act as the guide to the design and engineering teams and work towards continued alignment with clients. Understand the realities of fixed budgets and timelines and aid the client in making prioritization decisions that ensure project success.
- Providing consultation and support to client Product leadership in their day-to-day activities and decision-making process across features and workstreams.
- Work closely with marketing, strategy, design, research and engineering, to ensure alignment throughout the product. Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical team members to ensure a shared understanding of requirements.
- Participate in the testing and validation of developed features against documented requirements. Address and resolve any discrepancies between expected and actual outcomes.
- Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains. Stay abreast of industry best practices, emerging technologies, and CMS trends.
- Forming a strong and trusted client relationship.
Minimum qualifications

- 7+ years of experience working on large scale CMS implementation projects
- 5+ years of experience in business analysis and requirements definition
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Experience with CMS project concepts, best practices, roles, and artifacts
- Experience writing detailed functional requirements to serve design and development teams
- Experience working directly with client stakeholders to understand existing features and functions as well as future state goals
- Experience delivering on fixed fee consulting projects
Preferred qualifications
- Optimizely platform project experience
- Comfortable working closely with cross-functional development teams of engineers, designers, researchers, strategists, and Scrum Masters
- Experience leading team(s) with high revenue impacts
- Involvement in pitching program solutions - scope of work and team models
- Experience working in an Agile Scrum development environment, or in a consulting capacity is a plus
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Mobile and/or emerging technology experience/knowledge
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or IT related field
