Cluster Assistant Director of Finance | Romazzino, A Belmond Hotel

The Cluster Assistant Director of Finance will support all activities performed by the Director of Finance, to include but not limited to, understanding and driving financial performance, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting and month-end closing activities, coordinating and reviewing monthly financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Uniform System of Accounts and company policies and procedures. The role will ensure a smooth operation of all hotel finance activities in full compliance with the policy, regulatory and contractual framework.

Duties and Responsibilities

· Oversees the Accounting department activities to ensure optimal efficiency and performance of department

· Represents the Director of Finance in his absence

· Assists Director of Finance in the budgeting & forecasting processes

· Directs and Supervises Accounting department employees, including income audit, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and accountant

· Assist the Director of Finance in implementing policies, rules, internal controls and safeguards that ensure profitability and control of operations; liaison with the business's external and internal auditors.

· Coordinates month end closing, prepares all required journal entries, performs analytical reviews of Financial Statements and explains any variances from Budget

· Assists Director of Finance for Financial Reporting to Corporate Headquarters

· Coordinates annual internal and external audit processes

· Monitors departmental internal controls and creates and implements Operating procedures as necessary

· Coordinates the reconciliation of the balance sheets

· Delegates accounting tasks to junior accounting staff

· Identifying solutions to discrepancies in financial records

· Contributes to team efforts by accomplishing related tasks as needed

Requirements

What will you bring

· University degree in Accounting or Finance

· At least 4 years of experience in similar roles, within luxury hospitality environment

· Strong communicator & influencer capable of business partnering at all levels.

· Passionate about luxury hospitality

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Italian.
