About us
Committed to building the next generation of 100% software-based mobile networks, ng-voice is creating innovative mobile infrastructure solutions and making them accessible for operators and enterprises that want to deploy future-proof networks.
To support our continued growth, we are looking for a Cloud Platform Architect – Telecom (m/f/d) to join our team in Hamburg.
In this role, you will work at the intersection of cloud platform architecture, Kubernetes, and telecom systems, helping to design and evolve scalable, resilient platforms for real-time communication workloads.
This position is ideal for a mid-level to senior engineer or architect with strong Kubernetes expertise who wants to work on complex distributed systems in a telecom environment.
You will work on Kubernetes-based platforms powering real-time communication systems such as VoIP, IMS, and other cloud-native network functions.
Experience in telecom or other real-time, distributed systems environments is a strong plus.
Tasks
Tasks
- Design and own the cloud-native architecture of our Kubernetes-based telecom platform across public cloud and on-prem environments
- Ensure cloud readiness of product features by reviewing infrastructure, networking, security, observability, and automation early in the lifecycle
- Drive the evolution of the cloud platform and DevOps roadmap, identifying gaps and improving scalability, resilience, and operability
- Define customer deployment architectures, including HA/DR concepts, scaling strategies, and upgrade approaches
- Support customer engagements by leading technical discussions on cloud architecture, sizing, resilience, and operational models (pre- and post-sales)
- Champion operability by ensuring features are delivered with monitoring, logging, alerting, and clear operational guidance
- Collaborate closely with product, engineering, deployment, and customer-facing teams to avoid late-stage infrastructure surprises
- Review and guide implementation of infrastructure configurations such as Kubernetes manifests and Helm charts
Requirements
Requirements
- 5–10 years of experience in cloud or platform architecture for distributed systems
- Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes in production environments (networking, security, upgrades, Helm)
- Solid understanding of Kubernetes networking concepts (ingress/egress, CNI, network policies; multi-network setups are a plus)
- Experience with observability stacks (metrics, logs, tracing, alerting)
- Hands-on experience with public cloud Kubernetes platforms such as AWS EKS and/or GKE
- Comfortable working with YAML, Helm charts, and infrastructure configurations
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with both engineering teams and customer technical stakeholders
- Pragmatic mindset with the ability to balance architectural best practices and real-world delivery constraints
Domain knowledge (strong plus)
- Experience in telecom or real-time systems environments (e.g., IMS, VoLTE, SBC, mobile core, signalling systems)
- Understanding of how telecom applications are designed and deployed on cloud platforms
- Experience working with telecom vendors, system integrators, or operators
Nice to have
- Experience designing or operating highly available or geo-redundant Kubernetes platforms
- Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code or GitOps approaches
- Background in building or deploying cloud-native network functions (CNFs)
- Exposure to telecom signalling (SIP, Diameter) or IMS-based architectures
