Work on production systems improving real-time fraud detection, utilizing modern DevOps practices and AI tools in a collaborative, remote-first team environment.
Who We Are
Pindrop is the Real Human + Right Human® Identity Trust Platform for the AI era. As AI-driven fraud and deepfakes erode trust in digital communication, Pindrop delivers continuous identity verification and deepfake detection across voice, video, and digital interactions in real time.
Enterprises rely on Pindrop to secure billions of high-risk customer interactions each year, including top U.S. banks, as well as leading insurers and healthcare providers. Powered by models trained on more than 1.5 billion real-world interactions annually and protected by 300+ patents, Pindrop restores trust while reducing fraud, lowering operational costs, and improving customer experience.
Recognized by TIME as one of 2025’s Best Inventions and by Inc. for Best in Business for Innovation, Pindrop is backed by leading investors including Andreessen Horowitz, IVP, and CapitalG.
Why this internship is different
At Pindrop, you’ll work on real production systems that protect billions of customer interactions from fraud and deepfakes each year. Our platform powers identity verification for major banks, insurers, and healthcare providers—where reliability, security, and scale truly matter.
This internship sits at the intersection of cloud infrastructure, security, and AI. You won’t be working on isolated or “toy” problems—you’ll contribute to systems that operate in real time and directly impact customers. Along the way, you’ll gain hands-on experience with modern DevOps, SRE, and AI-assisted engineering practices used in high-scale environments.
What you’ll do
As a Cloud Engineering Intern, you’ll work alongside experienced engineers to build and improve the infrastructure that powers Pindrop’s real-time fraud detection and authentication systems.
You will:
- Assist in building and improving scalable, secure cloud infrastructure on AWS and/or GCP that supports real-time voice authentication and fraud detection systems
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, and containerized environments (e.g., Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes) to enable reliable deployments
- Help enhance monitoring and observability by working with logs, metrics, and alerting systems to improve system reliability
- Collaborate with engineering teams to troubleshoot issues, implement small features, and improve performance and cost efficiency
- Apply security-minded engineering practices, including safe deployments, secrets management, and least-privilege access
- Use AI-assisted tools (e.g., code generation, log analysis, LLM-based search) to improve debugging, monitoring, and engineering productivity
- Support cloud cost analysis and optimization efforts by identifying inefficiencies and suggesting improvements
Depending on your interests and experience, you may:
- Improve deployment speed by optimizing CI/CD pipelines
- Build dashboards to detect anomalies in real-time systems
- Prototype AI-assisted tools for incident response or debugging
- Reduce cloud costs through usage analysis and automation
- Enhance reliability by improving monitoring, alerting, or failover mechanisms
By the end of the internship, you will:
- Deliver a meaningful improvement, feature, or tool used by the engineering team
- Demonstrate strong fundamentals in cloud infrastructure, debugging, and system reliability
- Present your work and impact to the broader engineering organization
- Gain hands-on experience with production systems at scale
Who you are
- You’re excited about cloud infrastructure, DevOps, or Site Reliability Engineering
- You enjoy debugging systems and digging into logs, metrics, and data to understand issues
- You take initiative and are comfortable working through ambiguity to find solutions
- You communicate clearly about technical problems, progress, and tradeoffs
- You’re collaborative and eager to learn from and contribute to a team
- You’re curious about how AI can improve engineering workflows and systems
Your skill-set
Must-have qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field

- Experience with at least one programming or scripting language (e.g., Python, Go, Bash)
- Basic understanding of version control (Git)
- Exposure to containerization or infrastructure-as-code concepts (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform)
- Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn
Nice-to-have qualifications:
- Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI)
- Familiarity with monitoring/observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch)
- Exposure to cloud security concepts (IAM, secrets management, least privilege)
- Experience with AI/ML tools, APIs, or coursework
- Contributions to open-source, hackathons, or technical projects
What’s in it for you
- Hands-on experience working on real production systems at scale
- Mentorship from experienced cloud, DevOps, and SRE engineers
- Exposure to AI-assisted engineering tools and modern infrastructure practices
- A collaborative, remote-first environment with opportunities to connect in person
- The opportunity to make a real impact—and potentially receive a return offer
