The challenges:

• Real-time messaging infrastructure supporting 100,000 concurrent users per customer application;
• High performance systems with API responses in the 10ms range;
• Highly scalable architecture using auto-scaling policies, distributed systems and container orchestration;
• High availability infrastructure powering homepages of some of the most visited websites and apps on the internet;
• Managing distributed databases for our Data Platform storing every user engagement;
• Building infrastructure that enables product teams to ship fast with reliability and observability.

Work Experience:

• 3–5 years of relevant DevOps / Infrastructure / SRE experience.

Must-Have Experience:

• AWS infrastructure experience with:
  • ECS (Fargate);
  • Lambda;
  • RDS (PostgreSQL);
  • DocumentDB (MongoDB compatible);
  • S3;
  • CloudFront;
  • API Gateway;
  • WAF;
  • SES;
  • IAM;
  • VPC networking.
• Infrastructure as Code using Terraform;
• CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions (or similar);
• Containerization using Docker and container orchestration with ECS;
• Strong networking fundamentals: load balancers, DNS, VPNs, firewalls, CDNs;
• Monitoring and observability using Datadog, CloudWatch, Prometheus or similar;
• Database operations with MongoDB/DocumentDB and PostgreSQL;
• Fluent written and spoken English.

Nice-to-Have Experience:

• Kong API Gateway or other gateway technologies (NGINX, Envoy);
• DigitalOcean infrastructure;
• Varnish cache configuration and CDN optimization;
• FinOps and cloud cost optimization;
• Cloudflare DNS/CDN management;
• Serverless frameworks for Lambda deployments; 
• OpenVPN configuration and administration;
• Experience with high-scale systems (1M+ concurrent connections).

Example Projects You’ll Be Working on:

• Build fully redundant production environment with automated switchover capabilities;
• Build fully automated CI/CD pipeline;
• Build fully automated production scaling system;
• Build fully automated monitoring and early-warning systems;
• Implement SOC 2 / ISO 27001 compliance;
• Monitor and maintain systems security and data privacy.
