Continental is looking for a highly skilled Cloud Backend Engineer to work within their eCommerce, Fleet Solutions, and Data Science Information Technology Competence Center. With this job, you join the global team to work on the RFID Data Project where we aggregate and consolidate data for RFID tagged tires from different internal sources and deliver it to our customers, using a cloud based microservice architecture.

As Cloud Backend Engineer - RFID you will contribute to a global and multidisciplinary team, that works on the latest technologies and creates value-added solutions.

Your main responsibilities will be:

• Development and operation of a modern REST API microservice application;
• Integration of article and manufacturing data supply for the API application;
• Development and operation of data access points for internal customers on Azure;
• Implementing business logic, ETL routines, rule sets and interfaces on REST API microservices;
• Providing corrective and preventative maintenance, including monitoring of system performance;
• Maintain and extend the Cloud Infrastructure setup on Azure;
• Collaboration with IT Colleagues and internal customers;
• Support the productive application in the ITSM process and ensure data quality.

• Academic degree in Computer Science or related field;
• Experience with software development cycles, agile development methodologies and customer-oriented solutions;
• +2 years of practical relevant work experience and good knowledge of OOP programming language (preferably Java and Spring) for software implementations, SQL, microservice architectures, and databases;
• Extensive experience with REST APIs designs, including versioning concepts;
• Good knowledge of containerization technologies (e.g. Kubernetes & Docker);
• General knowledge of security standards and encryption;
• Good knowledge on Cloud environments an Azure (e.g. AKS, ACR)
• Analytical way of thinking, self-­organized and structured working style;
• Team­ orientation and intercultural empathy;
• Ability to promote ideas in complex and heterogeneous environments;
• Proficient English language skills (written and spoken).
