The Close Protection Officer is responsible for providing professional, discreet, and effective personal protection for the principal in a range of environments. THE CHALLENGE: 

Personal Protection

  • Provide close and continual protection for the principal during daily activities, travel, and events.
  • Maintain constant situational awareness and identify potential threats or vulnerabilities.
  • Plan and execute protective formations, evacuation routes, and immediate action drills.
  • Respond swiftly and decisively to security incidents, emergencies, or medical situations.

Operational Planning

  • Conduct advance planning and reconnaissance for all movements and engagements.
  • Develop and brief travel routes, contingency plans, and security measures for upcoming schedules.
  • Coordinate with drivers, venues, and third-party security providers to ensure seamless operations.

Travel and Logistics

  • Accompany and protect the principal during domestic and international travel.
  • Oversee secure transportation logistics, including route selection and vehicle readiness.
  • Ensure safe accommodation arrangements and advance site security assessments.

Intelligence and Threat Management

  • Continuously monitor and assess threat levels related to the principal’s activities and profile.
  • Liaise with security agencies, local authorities, and event organisers as needed.
  • Maintain incident, travel, and risk reports for accountability and review.

Confidentiality and Professional Conduct

  • Uphold the highest standards of discretion, confidentiality, and personal integrity.
  • Represent the principal with professionalism and diplomacy at all times.
  • Respect privacy, personal boundaries, and lifestyle requirements.

 

ABOUT YOU: 

Essential

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in close protection, corporate, or private security environments.
  • Valid SIA Close Protection Licence (or international equivalent).
  • Current First Aid at Work / Trauma Medical Certificate.
  • Advanced driving qualification (e.g., RoSPA, IAM, or equivalent).
  • Excellent operational awareness, risk assessment, and communication skills.

Desirable

  • Military or law enforcement background.
  • Experience providing protection for corporate executives, public figures, or UHNW clients.
  • Counter-surveillance, defensive tactics, or advanced medical training (FPOS-I, FREC 3+).
