We are seeking clinical operations attorneys with experience advising hospitals, large healthcare systems or large physician groups in Texas. 

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary legal advisor on clinical operations and healthcare licensing matters in the state of Texas, with a focus on practical, business-oriented counsel.
  • Manage and support pharmacy and nursing licensing activities, including analyzing regulatory requirements, advising on licensing strategy, and partnering with internal teams and outside vendors as needed.
  • Advise on day-to-day clinical operations issues, including scope of practice, delegation, supervision, and related regulatory constraints impacting care delivery models.

  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and policies related to clinical operations and professional services, ensuring alignment with applicable licensing and practice-of-medicine requirements.
  • Monitor and interpret changes in healthcare laws and regulations that affect clinical operations and licensing, and translate them into concise guidance for business stakeholders.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with clinical, operations, and product teams to support new initiatives, market expansions, and service changes from a legal and licensing perspective.
  • Coordinate with, and effectively manage, external counsel on specialized licensing or clinical operations matters, ensuring advice is tailored to the client's risk profile and objectives.

Desired Qualifications:

  • JD degree and active license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction; eligibility to practice in Texas (TX) or strong experience advising on Texas healthcare laws and regulations preferred.
  • 5+ years of legal experience in healthcare, with a strong focus on clinical operations, professional practice issues, and/or healthcare licensing.
  • Demonstrated experience advising on pharmacy and/or nursing licensing, including multi-state or national footprints, with specific exposure to Texas licensing requirements strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of scope of practice, supervision, delegation, and other legal issues impacting clinical workflows and care delivery models, including in Texas.
  • Proven ability to translate complex healthcare regulatory and licensing requirements into clear, practical guidance for business and clinical stakeholders.
  • Experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating agreements related to clinical services, professional services, or other healthcare operational arrangements.
  • Track record of partnering closely with clinical, operations, and product teams to support new initiatives, market expansion (including Texas), and changes in service models.
  • Comfort working in fast-paced, high-growth, or innovative healthcare environments (e.g., telehealth, digital health, value-based care, multisite providers).
  • Strong judgment and risk-balancing skills, with a preference for pragmatic, business-oriented solutions over purely compliance-driven approaches.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and build trust across diverse teams.

 

Compensation: 

The estimated total compensation for full-time Axiom attorney roles is $104,500-325,000 per year and for non-attorney roles is $71,250-309,750 per year. Compensation decisions are based on various factors, including, but not limited to, experience, skills, certifications, location, and business needs.  Employees may be eligible for additional benefits, including health, dental, and vision insurance; paid holidays and PTO; flexible work arrangements; and professional development opportunities and tools.
