About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Client Enablement and Technical Documentation Writer to mature the development and execution of technical and client enablement documentation for our industry-leading solutions. In this position you will help mature Abacus' internal and external documentation and client enablement processes and deliver easy to consume, accessible, and timely documentation. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience applying modern software product documentation best practices and demonstrate passion for the craft of technical writing. The candidate must demonstrate ability to articulate complex technical concepts through clear, accurate, and comprehensive documentation artifacts.

Experience writing for target audiences in the US Healthcare Payer, Healthcare Technology, and/or Healthcare Interoperability market segments is required. This role will work in close partnership with Technical Documentation and Enablement Peers, Product Management, Development, Sales and Client Success stakeholders to ensure that Abacus documentation keeps up with the growing maturity of its solutions and effectively communicates the value of latest features and services.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Mature the development and implementation of Abacus’ client enablement strategy to make product documentation a key support resource for internal and external clients.
  • Drive efficiencies in the client enablement process that ensures timely delivery of documentation artifacts by a well-known process with minimal distractions to other teams.
  • Create and maintain effective product documentation backlog that takes into consideration stakeholder tactical needs while staying aligned with the product delivery.
  • Develop accurate and easy-to-understand product documentation for technical product topics in a manner that is accessible to clients of varying roles and skill levels.
  • Produce a range of client enablement assets, including Product Overviews, Implementation Guides, API Guides, Knowledge Base Articles, Troubleshooting and FAQs, and Release Notes.
  • Mature semantic standards and guidelines as a documentation SME, enhancing/creating templates and guidelines that ensure delivery of consistent documentation and enablement artifacts.
  • Partner with Product Management and Marketing to identify and develop the necessary documentation and assets to support and promote business growth.
  • Measure, monitor and analyze documentation effectiveness, actively engage with key stakeholders to identify areas for improvement in our client enablement and training.

What We Are Looking For:

  • 5+ years of technical writing experience for technology and/or software products in the US Healthcare IT industry
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, including use of templates, styles, cross-referencing, table of contents, mail merge, and document automation for scalable technical documentation.
  • Strong understanding of the Document Development Life Cycle (DDLC), including planning, content design, authoring, review, publishing, and maintenance phases across regulated healthcare environments.
  • Excellent written and communication skills, with a proven record of making complex technical concepts accessible to a non-technical audience
  • Demonstrated history of maturing technical documentation and enablement processes
  • Proactive get-it-done attitude with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, maturing startup environment
  • Knowledge of foundational software development and data management concepts, such as communication protocols, APIs and databases and experience with popular public cloud services
  • Work experience with Agile and Scrum methodologies and popular configuration management and document organization software such as Jira, Confluence and Productboard
  • Work experience with commercial authoring tools, such as MadCap Flare and Paligo
  • Bachelor's Degree in English, Communication, Information Technology or equivalent

Nice To Have:

  • 3+ years in senior or lead Technical Writing role
  • Understanding of the US healthcare Payer industry, terminology and related workflows.
  • Knowledge of US healthcare payer business programs (e.g. Quality, Risk Adjustment, Value-Based Care, etc.)
  • Proficiency in prompt engineering to optimize AI-assisted authoring and review workflows using tools such as Copilot.
  • Knowledge of Data Management (Data Governance, Data Quality, Lineage, etc.)
  • Knowledge of Data Management technologies (Airbyte, Databricks, Snowflake, etc.)
  • Experience creating and curating end-user training material and assets
