Classics Language Tutor

Tutors provide supplemental learning opportunities outside the classroom on an individual basis.

This is considered a part-time, hourly, non-benefits eligible position. The minimum starting rate for the position is $21.27-$26.60 per hour.

Core Responsibilities:

• Meet with students during scheduled hours
• Staff the reserved room in the library during scheduled hours
• Provide advanced support in the language being taught
• Be a good mentor to potential future majors
• Collaborate with other tutors to provide support
• Meet with the language professor to remain updated on coursework

Requirements

• Advanced knowledge of the language being taught
• Advanced knowledge of the class you are supporting
• Advanced tutoring skills such as patience, empathy, and humor
• Good organizational skills
• Reliability

Drop-in tutoring hours have been scheduled for introductory language students throughout the semester. A team of Classics Language Tutors will staff the room and meet with students on an as-needed basis to provide support.
