Civil Project Engineer

Galloway & Company Inc. is looking for a Civil Project Engineer to join our Atlanta, Georgia (GA) office in 2025! This is not a remote position.

Responsibilities

  • Perform assignments designed to develop professional working knowledge and abilities, requiring the application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria needed to carry out a sequence of related engineering tasks.
  • Execute plan drafting using AutoCAD and Civil3D software.
  • Adjust and correlate data, recognize discrepancies in results, and follow operations through a series of related and detailed steps or processes.
  • Prepare improvement plans, specifications, supporting documents, and permit applications for subdivisions, commercial developments, multifamily developments, and public works projects.
  • Assist in the preparation of calculations like, storm drain, wastewater, water system, earthwork quantities, transportation, cost estimates, and other supporting documentation for public and private projects.
  • Take an active role in new business development and build strong relationships with existing clients.

Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor of Engineering from a four-year, board-approved engineering curriculum.

Experience

  • Typically, a minimum of 4 years of civil engineering experience after educational requirements. 2 years or more of land development experience highly preferred.
  • Possesses PE certification or eligible to take the PE exam within six months of hire.
  • Comprehension of principles/practices of civil engineering.
  • Understanding of approval and permitting process for civil projects, and the basic technical writing skills needed for civil reports and letters.
  • Knowledge of codes, and standards in civil design, including site layout, grading, erosion control, storm sewer, water, sanitary sewer, roadway, and fueling design.
  • Proficiency in calculations and programs used in the design of civil systems and reports including drainage, water, sanitary sewer, and roadway systems.
  • Experience in concurrently managing multiple projects, schedules, and budgets.

The estimated starting base salary for this role is $85,000-$100,000.
