The Opportunity: 


BluMetric is looking for a dynamic full-time Civil Designer (2D and 3D CAD) to join our multi-disciplinary team. This position will be responsible for working with a disciplinary team to take innovative design solutions from proposal stage through to constructed projects for clients in a wide variety of Sectors. This is a future vacancy within the organization.

  

Job Responsibilities: 

 

  • Preparation of civil drawings and details from conception to final design in a 3D modelling environment such as Civil 3D, according to established standards and procedures for a wide variety of sites, including linear utility modelling, site grading and site servicing plan modelling/design. 
  • Preparation of preliminary and detailed design drawings covering all facets of Civil engineering 
  • Providing input and knowledge on civil design best practices 
  • Providing input on design elements 


 Key Qualifications, Education, and Skills: 

 

  • Technician/Technologist with Civil Engineering Technology diploma with background in Civil Engineering is considered an asset. 
  • 5 to 8 years of civil design and /drafting and design/modelling experience.   
  • High proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D is mandatory. 
  • Experience with quality control (QA/QC) of models and drawings for standards compliance, discipline coordination. 
  • Experience with 2D modelling and drawings in AutoCAD, or similar 2D CAD system. 
  • Extensive experience with 3D model development, completing design, general arrangement drawing production. 
  • Superior attention to detail, problem solving and organizational skills. 
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders. 
  • Ability to work in a team environment, including leadership of small teams of professionals and technical staff. 
  • Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills. 
  • Experience with RTK-GPS and RPAS surveys is considered an asset. 
  • Fluency in English is mandatory. Fluency in French is considered an asset.
