CITY LABORER

TLDR

Assist in the movement of inventory and material distribution while performing general laboring work to support maintenance functions for NYCHA properties.

Under the supervision of the Carpenter supervisor, candidate will assist Lead Hazard Control Department Skilled Trades and Carpenter Supervisor who will oversee the movement of inventory, supply and material distribution to areas around the five boroughs, to ensure special assignments, emergencies, and ad-hoc resident requests are addressed accordingly to maximize safety and service to NYCHA residents.

Under general supervision, City Laborer workers at Lead Hazard Control Department will perform common laboring work assisting in routine maintenance and repair work, performing related work.
Duties shall include, but not limited to the following:

1. Perform labor requiring physical strength in the support of maintenance functions on NYCHA properties.
2. Move, lift, and carry items of various weight and sizes.
3. May utilize hand or power-driven equipment in the performance of duties.
4. May be required to operate motor vehicles in connection with the performance of duties.
5. May oversee the daily activity of other laborers in the performance of their duties.
