Make an Impact

You will play a direct, reliable role in shaping our engineering culture and improving how hundreds of developers build and ship software. Contribute to our core foundation engineering principles to design, secure, and maintain the self-service components that significantly reduce cognitive load across our development teams.

We’re looking for a proactive collaborator who can independently deliver well-defined features and improvements, making sound technical decisions that enhance the quality, reliability, and predictability of our software systems. You'll be a key influencer in our day-to-day execution, driving a strong engineering culture and coaching less experienced members.

What you will be doing

You will contribute to our Integration and Delivery Team by building and improving the platform engineering capabilities that enable our product teams to deliver reliably and efficiently. Your work will directly enhance the developer experience across engineering

• Elevate Developer Experience (DX): Develop and own the platform orchestrator, directly enabling self-service capabilities that significantly improve the broader engineering teams' DX.
• Strengthen Continuous Integration (CI): Focus on our GitHub Enterprise environment, actively improving organisation-wide CI capabilities through effective use of GitHub Actions, Runners, and repository automation.
• Promote Modern Practices and Productivity: Drive productivity and system automation across the engineering group by embracing modern software development patterns, including the use of AI-enabled tools.

Ensure Delivery Excellence: Consistently deliver clean, secure, and production-ready solutions that uphold our high engineering standards and align with our established tech stack.

What you'll bring

• Technical Proficiency: A strong, proven grasp of our essential technology stack, including Python, Docker, and GitHub Enterprise operating within Azure and/or GCP.
• Efficient Execution: Demonstrated ability to plan, schedule, and execute tasks effectively, delivering high-quality, practical, and efficient solutions with an appropriate balance of speed.
• Design & Maintainability Focus: Commitment to building solutions that prioritise simplicity, security, and long-term maintainability, independently producing code that is free from common vulnerabilities.
• Data-Driven Reliability: Expertise in utilising data from performance dashboards (e.g., New Relic), tests, and metrics to proactively enhance system reliability.
• Collaborative Mindset: Strong emotional intelligence and a demonstrated team-first approach, ensuring effective collaboration with all team members.
