Chief Revenue Officer (CRO)

TLDR

Lead the commercial strategy at Complexio while managing a high-performing team across sales, pre-sales, CRM, and account management to drive revenue growth.

About Complexio

Complexio is an enterprise AI company building the Event Knowledge Graph (EKG) platform — the intelligence layer for enterprise operations. Our core products include the EKG, Stevie (conversational AI interface), Context Broker, and Enterprise Automator. We serve leading organisations across the maritime, energy, insurance, trading and industrial sectors and are in active commercial scale-up with a growing roster of enterprise customers.

Role Purpose

The Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) is a senior leadership role responsible for the full commercial engine at Complexio. You will own and drive revenue across the entire customer lifecycle — from initial pipeline development through to long-term account growth — and will lead a high-performing team spanning Sales, Pre-Sales, CRM, and Account Management.

This role reports directly to the Co-CEO and sits on the Operating Leadership Team (OLT). You are the single accountable owner of commercial revenue performance and will be expected to set the strategic direction for GTM execution while rolling up your sleeves to win deals alongside your team.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

Revenue Leadership

  •   Own the commercial revenue target across new business, upsell, and renewals
  •   Define and execute the go-to-market strategy aligned to Complexio's sector focus (maritime, energy, industrial)
  •   Build and maintain a healthy, high-quality pipeline with rigorous forecasting and CRM discipline
  •   Personally lead and close strategic enterprise deals where required

Sales & Pre-Sales

  •   Lead and coach the Sales and Pre-Sales teams to consistently hit and exceed targets
  •   Own the end-to-end sales process from prospecting through to contract signature
  •   Ensure Pre-Sales capability (demos, solution scoping, POC delivery) is aligned to enterprise buyer expectations
  •   Develop scalable playbooks, pitch materials, and competitive positioning

Account Management

  •   Build a world-class account management function focused on value realisation, retention, and expansion
  •   Ensure senior executive relationships are maintained at all key accounts
  •   Partner with Product and Delivery to translate customer feedback into roadmap input
  •   Own renewal and expansion targets across the existing customer base

Customer Health

  •   Define and own Complexio's customer health framework — including health scoring models, risk indicators, and success milestones
  •   Establish a proactive monitoring cadence to identify at-risk accounts early and mobilise the right internal response
  •   Drive consistent QBR (Quarterly Business Review) and EBR (Executive Business Review) programmes across the customer base
  •   Build a feedback loop between customer health signals and Product, Delivery, and Engineering teams
  •   Set success metrics that measure genuine value realisation — not just activity — and use these to underpin renewals and upsell conversations

  • CRM & Commercial Operations

  •   Own CRM strategy, hygiene, and adoption across the commercial team
  •   Define commercial KPIs and reporting cadences; maintain full pipeline and revenue visibility for leadership
  •   Establish pricing and commercial governance frameworks in collaboration with the Co-CEOs
  •   Drive process rigour across the quote-to-cash workflow

Team & Culture

  •   Recruit, develop, and retain a high-calibre commercial team
  •   Set clear performance standards and build a culture of accountability, ambition, and customer obsession
  •   Act as a senior cross-functional leader, partnering closely with Product, Delivery, and Marketing

What We're Looking For

Essential

  •   8+ years in enterprise B2B sales or commercial leadership, with at least 3 years managing a team
  •   Demonstrable track record of building and scaling commercial functions at a growth-stage B2B SaaS or enterprise software company
  •   Experience selling complex, high-value solutions (ACV typically $1M+) to C-suite stakeholders
  •   Strong understanding of enterprise sales methodologies (e.g. MEDDIC, Challenger, SPIN)
  •   Hands-on experience with CRM platforms (Salesforce, HubSpot or equivalent) and revenue operations principles
  •   Exceptional communication and executive presence — able to credibly represent Complexio to enterprise prospects and customers
  •   Highly commercially minded with strong analytical capability and attention to pipeline and forecast accuracy

  • Desirable
  •   Experience in the maritime, shipping, energy, or industrial sectors
  •   Background in AI, data platforms, or knowledge graph / graph database technologies
  •   Experience selling into or alongside implementation partners and system integrators
  •   Multilingual capability relevant to Complexio's key markets

Benefits

Who You Are

A hunter and a builder — you thrive in ambiguity, enjoy creating structure, and are motivated by results

A natural relationship builder who earns trust at C-suite level quickly

Data-driven and process-oriented without losing commercial instinct

Collaborative and low-ego — you bring teams along with you rather than operating in silos

Energised by early-stage, high-growth environments where your impact is direct and visible

What We Offer

A senior leadership role with genuine influence over strategy and direction

Competitive base salary with a meaningful performance-related component tied to commercial outcomes

Possible ESOP participation aligned to the company's growth trajectory

Based in Amsterdam with access to Complexio hubs in London, Copenhagen, and beyond

The opportunity to build and shape the commercial function at a well-funded, fast-growing enterprise AI company

Direct access to Co-CEO leadership and a seat at the table on product and strategy decisions
