POSITION TITLE: Chief of Staff and Culture
STATUS: Salaried, Exempt
REPORTS TO: President/CEO
COMPENSATION: Salary range is $80,000 to $105,000

POSITION SUMMARY
The Chief of Staff and Culture (COS) serves as a thought partner and advisor to the CEO and the Senior Team (ST). The COS provides high-level strategic support and insight, guiding initiatives with organization-wide impact, along with overseeing and maximizing the effective operations of the ST. The COS will work with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure priority projects and strategic objectives are met. This role also acts as an In This Together champion and change agent, raising issues that impact employees, patients, community members, and stakeholders. This role will seek to intentionally build collaborative partnerships internally and externally to deliver value-added service to leaders and employees in a manner that reflects Planned Parenthood of the St. Louis Region and Southwest Missouri (PPSLRSWMO) workplace values and service standards.

40% Executive Thought Partnership & Strategic Planning
· Serves as a conduit and advisor to the CEO on major projects to assist the CEO with leveraging time constraints, reducing roadblocks, increasing impact and accelerating progress.
· Advises and supports leadership in approaching organizational change in a way that engages employees at all levels of the organization and achieves desired results most effectively and efficiently.
· Identifies opportunities to engage the Board of Directors on strategic issues/high priority topics and partners with the CEO on agendas and communication for the Board, committee and task force meetings
· Introduce best practices and better ways of managing work and creating processes that will clarify where PPSLRSWMO stands on key projects/initiatives/org metrics.
· Partners with the ST to manage annual and quarterly planning processes to ensure alignment with strategic plan and priorities.
· Ensures that all members of the ST are informed in a timely manner of critical issues that require their attention and decision-making; ensure complete and accurate information, as well as a thorough analysis of options.
· Proactively jumps into the debate and share opinions, working collaboratively across the organization in the development of strategy, goals, and priorities; drive strategy implementation and clear barriers to action..
· Identifies opportunities to integrate across functional teams; leverage strengths to take advantage of new opportunities and/or to address organizational challenges
· Together with senior leaders, through project management and key initiative oversight, work to meet strategic goals with clear communication, elimination of silos, integrated work-plans, and implementation with an eye towards coordinated accountabilities, objectives and associated budgets.
20% Partnerships
· Develops and maintains partnerships and collaborations with internal and external stakeholders with the aim of strengthening cross-functional understanding of PPSLRSWMO’s work in order to achieve the affiliate strategic plans and goals.
· Represents the CEO’s office at meetings when required and appropriate
40% Organizational Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Strategy Development & Implementation
· Leads the Culture & Equity Team’s development of an organizational DEI strategy that is in alignment with the organization's future state strategy.
· Supervises the Culture & Equity Team and oversees the organization’s DEI Budget.
· Partners with Communications Team to develop and communicate PPSLRSWMO’s DEI strategy to internal and external audiences; through this work, this role work will strengthen PPSWMO’s DEI efforts across PPSLRSWMO’s footprint.
· Champions a culture of accountability in relation to PPSLRSWMO’s strategies and initiatives and works to ensure that equity is interwoven throughout the organization's policies and strategic initiatives.
· Skilled facilitator and DEI subject-matter expert.
· Works collaboratively with patient care leaders to clarify PPSLRSWMO’s efforts around healthy equity with the aim of strengthening the relationship between employee and patient experience.
· Serves as the staff liaison to the Culture Shift Committee.
· Performs other related duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position supervises members of the Culture & Equity Team and also serves as an internal consultant and thought partner for all leaders both formal and informal.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
·· Bachelor's Degree required, Master's Degree preferred
· At least 5 years of experience managing people, projects and/or initiatives in a multi-site organization or program and at least 3 years of leading or managing development and/or DEI work in non-profit, public health, education and/or health care settings.
· Exceptional interpersonal skills/ emotional intelligence, with the ability to manage relationships with a diverse set of colleagues.
· Strong analytical skills and use of data to drive decision-making and to build consensus/support
· Strong written, communication, and organizational skills, including a track record of balancing and prioritizing multiple priorities simultaneously
· Ability to recognize and interpret the nuances of the power and privilege dynamics in race relations and other dominant-non-dominant culture relations
· Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships across a variety of stakeholders, influence others and manage laterally and up to ensure successful outcomes
