Job Purpose:
This role is responsible for providing overall strategic leadership and direction to the Manufacturing function to ensure efficient and effective operations and the availability of products and services anchored on the short, medium and long-term plan of the company.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Manufacturing Operations

  • Provides strategic direction and guidance in creating an effective and robust manufacturing strategy to support the business requirements
  • Ensures that manufacturing systems and processes are in place to produce products at the right time and cost.
  • Provides strategic leadership in manufacturing and footprint planning including strategies for operational synergy and expansion.
  • Puts in place the definition and tracking of manufacturing KPIs and dashboards ensuring that these are reflective of the overall business strategy

2. Projects and CAPEX Management

  • Leads in developing CAPEX strategies, identifying and prioritizing projects that supports the overall business strategy
  • Oversees the timely implementation and tracking of CAPEX projects, time, cost, and overall result

3. Performance Management & Improvement

  • Establishes, drives, monitors, and benchmarks Key Performance Indicators to ensure that logistics performance is properly and proactively managed
  • Leads in the identification and implementation of improvement initiatives to reduce distribution cost and other related costs, increase operational efficiency and capability, optimize the use of company resources

4. Annual Operating Plan and Cost Management

  • Prepares department budget, monitors and ensures operational expenses are within approved budget
  • Evaluates and implements cost-savings opportunities while maintaining the quality and level of service
  • Leads Logistics team in identifying and implementing continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste, improve quality, increase productivity, and maximize resources

5. Organization and People Development

  • Coaches, mentors, and identifies training and developmental needs and job competencies of line personnel to build a well-informed, well-trained, empowered workforce, and stable organization
  • Conducts periodic staff meeting to update plans and initiatives
  • Engages the workforce in establishing harmonious relationships and follows the proper implementation of Company Rules & Regulations including discipline, work attendance, etc

Requirements

Skills / Qualifications:

A. Education, Professional Experience, Certifications

  • College Graduate in any Engineering discipline
  • More than twenty years of professional experience in FMCG, Cosmetics / Pharma, manufacturing/logistics, with ten years in a managerial/leadership capacity
  • Proven expertise in manufacturing excellence, project management, and business partner management
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple large-scale projects with competing priorities and diverse stakeholders
  • Strong business acumen and strategic decision-making skills
  • Own and deliver the Profit & Loss (P&L) of the business unit
  • Experience in multi-plant management

 

B. Internal and External Interactions

  • Internal: Execom, Area and Regional Heads, Function/Department Heads, Manufacturing team, Supply Chain team
  • External: Board of Directors, Government Officials, Key Stakeholders
