Chief Human Resources Officer

Guardsquare is looking for a CHRO to join our HQ in Leuven.

As Chief Human Resources Officer, you will be part of the executive team and a hands-on leader responsible for shaping and scaling Guardsquare’s global people strategy. You will ensure that Guardsquare’s people, leadership, and culture scale effectively while retaining the qualities that make the company unique.

This role is ideal for a senior HR leader who has experience in fast-scaling international organizations, understands European and global HR regulations, and enjoys building modern HR frameworks that support innovation, performance, and employee engagement.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

• Drive the global HR strategy aligned with Guardsquare’s business objectives and growth plans.
• Act as a trusted advisor to the CEO and leadership team on organizational design, workforce planning, leadership development, and culture.
• Support Guardsquare’s transition to a High Performance Organization.

Global HR & Scaling

• Build and scale HR operations across current and future international locations.
• Ensure compliance with EU, US, and global labor laws, data privacy regulations (including GDPR), and local employment practices.
• Develop scalable HR policies, processes, and systems that balance consistency with local flexibility.

Talent & Organization

• Oversee talent acquisition strategies for highly specialized roles (engineering, product, security, go-to-market).
• Strengthen employer branding to position Guardsquare as a top employer in mobile security and deep tech.
• Lead performance management, career frameworks, succession planning, and leadership development initiatives.

Culture, Engagement & Values

• Protect and evolve Guardsquare’s culture as the organization grows internationally.
• Drive employee engagement, inclusion, and well-being initiatives across all locations.
• Act as a cultural ambassador, ensuring alignment between teams, geographies, and leadership levels.

HR Operations & Governance

• Lead compensation, benefits, equity programs, and rewards strategies in a competitive global market.
• Oversee HR systems, analytics, and reporting to enable data-driven decision making.
• Manage employee relations, risk management, and organizational change with professionalism and empathy.
  
  

What We’re Looking For

Experience & Background

• Senior HR leadership experience (e.g. CHRO, VP People, Head of HR) in fast-growing, international technology or scale-up environments.
• Proven track record of building and scaling HR globally, ideally from a European HQ.
• Proven experience supporting international acquisitions
• Strong knowledge of EU labor law and experience working with US and other international HR regulations.
• Experience supporting highly technical or engineering-driven organizations is a strong plus.

• Strong business acumen with the ability to translate company strategy into people initiatives.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across cultures and geographies.

• Excellent communication skills in English (other languages are a plus).
• Willingness to travel internationally as the organization grows.
