Equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) at Vestd

At Vestd, we prioritise equality, diversity, and inclusion, so we write about it here rather than at the end of the job advertisement. We’re committed to building a respectful, inclusive, and diverse team. Trust is one of our core values; with that comes a commitment to fairness and transparency. We want to be open about our EDI efforts.

Research shows that while men are likely to apply when they meet 60% of a job’s requirements, women and individuals from underrepresented groups often apply only when they meet every criterion.

We understand the value of transferable skills and the unique perspectives that diversity brings. That’s why we encourage applications from candidates with unique strengths and experiences.

If you need any adjustments or support with your application, please let us know in your application or throughout the process.

Requirements

The role

We are looking for a commercial, strategic, and hands-on Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead our Finance function and help guide the business through its next phase of growth. This role is pivotal in shaping the financial strategy, ensuring operational excellence, and preparing the organisation for investment, scale, and long-term sustainability.

As an FCA regulated SaaS business, we need a CFO who not only understands traditional finance disciplines and is comfortable with FCA reporting requirements, but is also fluent in SaaS metrics, revenue modelling, ARR/NRR mechanics, pricing strategy, and investor expectations. You’ll be a core partner to the CEO and senior leadership team aligning financial strategy with product, GTM, operational and organisational decisions.

This is both a strategic and operational role: you will oversee all aspects of financial planning, reporting, compliance, risk, commercial modelling, and investor relations, while also building a scalable finance function suited to a high-growth SaaS environment.

We are looking for individuals who are not only passionate about our mission but also comfortable and confident using cutting-edge technologies and AI tools to streamline processes, drive innovation, and contribute to the growth of Vestd.

The primary responsibilities of this role

Strategic Financial Leadership

  • Own and define the long-term financial strategy aligned to company goals and growth ambitions.
  • Serve as a key advisor to the CEO and a core member of the Senior Leadership Team
  • Lead financial forecasting, modelling, and scenario planning — particularly ARR, NRR, churn, CAC, lifetime value and cash runway.
  • Ensure the business is prepared for investment rounds, due diligence, and board-level scrutiny.

Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)

  • Build robust budgeting processes, rolling forecasts, and variance analysis.
  • Translate complex financial data into actionable insights for GTM, Product, and People teams.
  • Drive unit economics discipline across the organisation.
  • Ensure commercial decisions (pricing, segmentation, hiring, product investment) align with financial strategy.

SaaS Metrics, Revenue and Commercial Insight

  • Lead on identification, definition and performance management of key SaaS financial indicators: ARR, NRR, GRR, CAC payback, gross margin, cost to serve.
  • Support CRO and GTM leaders with revenue modelling, commission structures, and pipeline economics.
  • Partner with Product on pricing/packaging optimisation and investment ROI.

Finance Operations & Compliance

  • Oversee all financial operations: accounting, audit, regulatory reporting, tax, treasury, payroll, banking, and legal compliance.
  • Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting.
  • Lead annual budgeting process.
  • Build scalable systems and processes that support a high-growth organisation.
  • Own risk management, governance frameworks, and financial controls.

Investor Relations & Funding

  • Own the production of communications for investors, analysts, the Board and potential funding partners.
  • Drive preparation for investment rounds, including financial models, due diligence documentation, and risk assessments.
  • Build trust and confidence through transparent, data-driven reporting.

Operational Excellence

  • Use product analytics tools and dashboards to monitor adoption, retention, churn signals and feature utilisation.
  • Measure and improve key product metrics.
  • Establish a product decision-making framework that balances speed with rigour.

Leadership & Organisational Development

  • Build and develop a high-performing Finance team with depth in FP&A, operations, and compliance.
  • Support cross-functional leaders on financial literacy and decision-making.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, clarity, and commercial awareness throughout the business.

Essential elements for this role

These are the skills and qualifications we consider important for this role:
