Who You Are:

We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) and Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) to build and scale Galaxy’s compliance function in the Netherlands and support broader EU operations. As a senior leader reporting into the EMEA Head of Legal & Compliance, you will oversee compliance with applicable laws and regulations, including WWFT, MiCAR,

MiFID/MiFIR, 6AMLD and GDPR, while ensuring that compliance is embedded across our digital asset ecosystem—from derivatives and crypto trading, asset management and venture investing to infrastructure services.

What You’ll Do:

Lead the development and execution of the compliance strategy for Galaxy's Dutch and EU-based operations
Ensure regulatory compliance with all applicable laws, including Dutch AML laws (WWFT), GDPR, MiCAR, MiFID and relevant EU financial services frameworks
Act as the main point of contact with regulatory authorities, in particular the AFM
Oversee internal compliance monitoring, risk assessments, policy development, and controls implementation
Manage the design and oversight of AML/CFT programs, customer due diligence, and transaction monitoring processes
Provide clear and practical compliance guidance to internal stakeholders across Galaxy’s EU-based business lines, including asset management, investment banking, and infrastructure
Lead compliance training and awareness initiatives with an EU focus
Collaborate with global teams to align on policies, reporting, and best practices
Support registration, licensing, and regulatory engagement efforts throughout Europe

What We’re Looking For:

10+ years of experience in compliance, legal, or regulatory roles in financial services or fintech
Deep knowledge of EU and Dutch financial regulatory frameworks (WWFT, MiCAR, GDPR, etc.)
Experience managing relationships with financial regulators and external auditors
Commercial and “hands-on” approach to working with the business
Excellent communication, leadership, and strategic thinking skills
Fluent in English, Dutch language skills are a strong plus

Bonus Points:

Experience working in a multi-jurisdictional compliance environment
Familiarity with digital assets, blockchain technology, or innovative financial products
Hands-on experience with compliance tools or RegTech platforms
Experience scaling compliance functions in startup or high-growth environments
