What You’ll Do

As a Chemical Support Engineer, you will serve as the primary technical support resource for your assigned district, ensuring treatment chemicals and equipment are applied effectively, economically, and safely at customer sites. You will partner closely with Sales Account Managers to design, implement, and optimize treatment programs.

  • Perform routine service visits and testing to ensure safe and effective treatment programs within the pulp and paper industry
  • Document each service visit, update internal databases, and generate weekly service reports
  • Troubleshoot technical issues at customer sites, communicate findings, and develop corrective action plans while keeping sales partners informed
  • Identify growth opportunities at existing customer accounts and assist with prospective account evaluations
  • Support data analysis related to treatment program performance
  • Conduct routine monitoring and maintenance of chemical feed and support equipment
  • Participate in technical training and development programs to advance skills and knowledge

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science or another technical discipline (relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree)
  • Ability to solve complex, non-routine technical problems
  • Strong relationship-building and customer-facing skills
  • Industry awareness or the ability to quickly learn proprietary technologies and applications
  • Results-driven mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Must reside within 45 minutes of customer sites (Portland, OR or Vancouver, WA area preferred)
