Job Description

LGC is seeking an ambitious Channel Specialist to join our Sales team and make a direct impact on our revenue growth. In this role, you will develop positive relationships with key internal and external partners and expand the territory revenue of the Standards business. You will offer mentorship and support for LGC Reference Materials and Analytical Standards product lines for our standard distributor Segment accounts.   1. Key Responsibilities
  • Handle all Standard Distributor segment accounts in the specified geography. Serve as the point of contact for the complete LGC Standards product portfolio at new and existing partners across EMEA.
  • Assist existing and potential distribution partners and resellers through various communication channels. These include email, phone calls, and online meetings. Help qualify leads, convert prospects, follow up on quotations, and drive new sales.
  • Optimize transaction efficiency by guiding customers through our web shop. This includes providing support and troubleshooting assistance, monitoring transaction progress, and implementing standard procedures to improve user experience and happiness.
  • Identify and cultivate new and existing distribution partners who have strong growth potential and resource needs, turning them into strategic partners.
  • Use LGC’s sales tools and virtual capabilities to prospect, nurture opportunities, and conduct ongoing territory planning.
  • Achieve quota set for a given territory, employing collaborators as needed to deliver sales from new and existing customers.
  • Work closely with quoting teams to ensure that new customer and product-price requests result in formal quotations and are followed up per agreed timescales.

Qualifications

We are looking for a Channel Specialist with a scientific background. A formal qualification in Pharmaceutical, Life Science/Biotech, Environmental/Food/Life sciences, Industrial sciences, or chemistry is preferred.

  • At least 2 years’ experience in a selling or customer service role for technical products used in research and/or analytical laboratories.
  • A flexible individual with the right attitude and a desire to succeed in a commercial environment.
  • Customer-focused with a high level of customer service capabilities.
  • Good organizational abilities and attention to detail.
  • Experience in generating and managing leads.
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • A great teammate who is encouraging of colleagues.
  • Good level of computer literacy and keyboard skills; Microsoft Office is essential.
  • Experience using Salesforce CRM and Excel is of benefit.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong English skills with proficiency in other languages being a plus.
