Apollo is seeking a compassionate and motivated Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our Home Healthcare Team. In this role, you will provide high-quality occupational therapy services to patients in the comfort of their own homes, helping them regain independence and improve their daily functioning.

You will work closely with a Registered Occupational Therapist and a team of dedicated healthcare professionals who are committed to delivering exceptional patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities

As a COTA at Apollo, you will:

  • Assist in evaluating patients’ functional abilities, including muscle strength, endurance, coordination, communication skills, self-care, and work capacity, under the supervision of a Registered Occupational Therapist (OT).
  • Help assess patients’ home environments to identify safety risks or barriers to independent living.
  • Support patients in learning new skills or relearning daily activities impacted by illness or injury.
  • Follow individualized treatment plans and goals established by the supervising OT.
  • Document patient progress, responses to treatment, and any changes in condition in accordance with Apollo policies.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical records and submit all required documentation.
  • Communicate and collaborate with other members of the care team to ensure coordinated and effective patient care.
  • Participate in case conferences, in-services, and team meetings as required.
  • Educate patients, families, and caregivers on treatment plans and exercises as delegated by the OT.
  • Identify additional patient or caregiver needs and assist with referrals for other home care services when appropriate.
  • Work under the supervision of a Registered Occupational Therapist, with formal supervision occurring at least every 30 days and ongoing communication documented in the patient’s clinical record.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an Occupational Therapy Assistant program accredited by the American Occupational Therapy Association
  • Current certification through the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy
  • Current, active California State licensure as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant
  • Current CPR certification
  • Ability to travel to and provide services in patients’ home
  • Home Healthcare experience

Rates

$30-75/hour + mileage reimbursement for W-2 employees
