Certified Medical Coder (Anesthesia) | Permanent WFH

We are seeking a skilled and detail-driven Medical Coder with anesthesia coding expertise to join our team. The ideal candidate will accurately assign CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes (including modifiers) for surgical, procedural, and office-based reports in compliance with CMS coding guidelines. This role also provides billing and coding support across clinics as needed, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance in all aspects of coding and documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review and code office visits, surgical procedures, and anesthesia-related reports using accurate CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes.
• Ensure all coding follows CMS, payer-specific, and compliance guidelines.
• Provide clinic-wide billing and coding support, assisting with reconciliation, claims review, and error resolution as needed.
• Audit and correct clinic fee tickets, procedure charges, and hospital reports for accuracy and completeness.
• Manage appointment reconciliation reports to support accurate month-end closeout.
• Review and resolve items on the Claims Error and AR reports, ensuring timely billing corrections.
• Maintain current knowledge of coding updates, industry standards, and compliance regulations.
• Support physicians and clinic staff with coding clarification, documentation improvement, and process efficiency.
• Uphold HIPAA and organizational confidentiality standards in all communications and documentation.
• Participate in teamwork-driven initiatives that enhance workflow, patient experience, and operational efficiency.

Requirements

• CPC certification (AAPC) preferred; uncertified coders with relevant anesthesia coding experience may also be considered.
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience in anesthesia coding and billing processes.
• Familiarity with CMS, payer-specific guidelines, and modifier usage.
• Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
• Excellent organizational skills with keen attention to detail and accuracy.
• Proficiency in MS Office and practice management or EHR systems.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
