Hours: 29 hours/per week

Schedule: Through August 31, 2026. Monday through Friday 10am-7p

This is a part-time, fully remote position based out of our New York City office location. It is expected that position duties will be performed remotely. This role is intended to be for an employee living in New York, NY or in a location that is commutable to the SEO NY office should there ever be a need. There is potential to support occasional in-person student events throughout the year.

SEO Scholars is a free eight-year academic program that successfully educates and mentors underserved public high school students from low-income backgrounds to and through college. In college, we continue to support students through each of their four years, providing one-on-one academic, personal and career exploration support. Position Overview

  • The Part Time Career Assistant works with SEO College Scholars to support graduates of NYC, San Francisco, and North Carolina public high schools attending colleges across the country by providing year-round career support through individualized meetings and career material reviews.
  • Design, edit, and update college participant resumes, cover letters, LinkedIn profiles, and written application materials as needed for content and general formatting
  • Provide feedback to program participants on editing and improving written application materials for internships, jobs, and other competitive positions via one-on-one review through video conferencing and email communications
  • Conduct and provide feedback on mock interviews conducted through online platforms such as Zoom
  • Maintain confidentiality of information exposed to during data entry regarding students
  • Utilize Salesforce systems, and additional technology platforms such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Form Assembly, and com among others
  • Occasional evening or weekend work might be offered, dependent on program needs
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in English, Communication, Journalism, Human Resources, or related field
  • At least 1-2 years of professional experience working with college students; 1-2 years professional editing experience preferred
  • Experience in maintaining accurate records and tracking projects with multiple tasks and phases
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Google Drive
  • Must be data driven, familiarity with Salesforce a plus

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

This position is benefits ineligible in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations.

The compensation listed in this posting reflects what SEO believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting.
