About the role:

The Campaign Director, Contract Employee is the day-to-day marketing lead and an integral part of the Ad Council’s Campaign and Programs team responsible for overseeing the development, implementation and evaluation of fully integrated public service communications programs that drive sustainable and measurable social change. On a day-to-day basis, they are trusted partners and advisers to nonprofit and government clients, as well as pro-bono agencies.

Whether it’s reviewing research, working collaboratively on a strategy and evaluating creative, understanding the competitive landscape, executing with partners against digital and PR/social plans, or partnering with one of our board member companies on their CSR initiative, your job will be to oversee and coordinate the various processes that go into developing communications programs that truly surround an issue, reach an audience and make a difference in our world.

This position may necessitate travel for campaign productions and meetings, and other Ad Council events.

Timing and Employment Length:

This is a contract employee role. This means that, while the position is at all times one of “at will employment”, the Ad Council anticipates at present that the employment length would be approximately 6 months with the possibility to extend the contract.

The compensation for this position is $10,000 monthly, paid semi-monthly.Contract employees receive a W-2 for tax reporting purposes and will be eligible to participate in limited benefits and paid time off. What you’ll do:

Reporting to the VP, Campaigns and Programs, you will work collaboratively on a cross-functional team to develop and manage multi-media communications programs for your docket of campaigns.

 Responsibilities include:

  • Leading the strategic and creative development, implementation and evaluation of two (2) fully integrated campaigns
  • Overseeing the development and execution of target-audience-driven communications and marketing programs and go-to-market plans across traditional media, digital, social, PR, grassroots/community and partnership channels
  • Managing day-to-day relationships and communications with campaign sponsors and funders, volunteer agency partners and other external stakeholders. This includes conducting briefings, maintaining communication, acting on partner feedback and ensuring delivery of the highest quality client service and deliverables
  • Leading and collaborating with cross-functional teams, including Strategy & Evaluation, Media (Strategy & Outreach), PR/social media, Influencer Marketing, Analytics, Digital Products, to ensure all components of the campaign are developed, executed and implemented on brand and on time to deliver on campaign objectives
  • Providing ongoing evaluation of campaign performance:
    • Review and analyze donated and earned media, website and social media analytics and tracking study results
    • Develop recommendations to optimize campaign performance based on results
  • Identifying opportunities to deepen existing partnerships and pursue new collaborations that advance campaign objectives
  • Managing campaign budgets, forecasts, and accounting processes to ensure bottom line cost control and accurate and timely financial reporting
  • Ensuring compliance with and completion of all contract/grant reporting requirements; collaborate with in-house counsel as needed to develop and review SOWs and contracts
  • Developing and drafting all necessary campaign proposals, RFPs, marketing plans, contracts/grants and required reports, as needed.
  • Providing oversight and mentorship to 1-3 Assistant Campaign Managers.

What you bring:

  • At least 6+ years of account management or in-house advertising/marketing experience (with a minimum of 2 years as an Account Supervisor or equivalent)
  • Proven track record of leading integrated communications programs
  • Experience leading a cross functional team and overseeing project execution and outcomes
  • Experience managing multiple projects concurrently in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience managing through change, and building/experimenting with new processes and models
  • Experience with financial forecasting and resource allocation
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and experience with public speaking
  • Excellent computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint
