PROJECT BACKGROUND:
The Building Resilience through Innovation and Collaboration (BRIC) project aims to strengthen the capacity, collaboration, and effectiveness of local Moldovan organizations to counter disinformation and enhance the resilience of the Moldovan public. The program addresses the vulnerability of Moldova’s information landscape to disinformation, malign influences, and hostile interference.
SUMMARY:
The Campaign and Strategic Communication Lead is responsible for planning and day-to-day delivery of a social media campaign implemented with influencers and ICDC member organisations. The main focus of the role is to manage the campaign and everything related to it: coordinating creators, planning content, ensuring timelines are respected, and keeping the work on message and on brief. The post-holder will work as part of a wider project team and will be supported by colleagues on administration, finance, and MEL, translation and other.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Campaign management and coordination
- Lead the operational delivery of the campaign, shaping the project concept into a clear work plan and action plan with realistic activities, timelines, and responsibilities.
- Coordinate day-to-day implementation with influencers and partner organisations, ensuring key deliverables are produced on time and in line with agreed objectives and messaging.
- Develop and manage practical weekly and monthly content plans, editorial calendars, and dissemination schedules to keep the campaign on track.
- Liaise regularly with project colleagues and partners to follow up on progress, address small issues early, and maintain consistent quality.
2. Digital creator support
- Work closely with content creators and digital storytellers to enable the production of accurate, engaging campaign content that helps audiences navigate disinformation.
- Lead the core creator engagement process (onboarding, briefings, coordination, and follow-up), ensuring contributors understand expectations and feel supported.
- Maintain regular, constructive communication with creators, offering clear guidance on deadlines, formats, and quality requirements, and providing troubleshooting when needed.
- Use a good understanding of disinformation and manipulative narratives to help creators avoid misleading framing and maintain balanced, evidence-based communication, while fully respecting their authentic voice and independence.
- Support creators to develop story ideas and formats that inform and engage audiences, focusing on clarity, accuracy, and constructive civic narratives.
3. Content quality assurance and editorial oversight
- Be able to review and, when necessary, adjust content (texts, captions, scripts) to improve clarity and coherence, ensuring each creator’s voice remains authentic.
- Check key factual elements and ensure that content is responsible, in line with agreed messaging, and sensitive to the local context.
- Coordinate translations/subtitles with colleagues or service providers and support quality checks across languages when needed.
4. Service provider coordination
- Help prepare briefs and basic documentation for external service providers such as editors, designers, videographers, or monitoring agencies.
- Coordinate timelines and deliverables with these providers and ensure smooth collaboration between them and the creators, with support from the project and admin team.
5. Monitoring, learning, and reporting support
- Collect and organise basic monitoring data for the campaign (e.g., links, views, engagement figures) with support from MEL colleagues.
- Contribute to short performance updates and internal summaries, highlighting main achievements, challenges, and practical adjustments.
- Provide input to narrative reports by documenting key activities, decisions, and examples of content produced.
6. Training and logistics
- Support planning and delivery of trainings, workshops, and coordination meetings for creators.
- Help ensure that sessions are practical and directly connected to the needs of the campaign and creators.
KEY SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
- Minimum 3 years of experience in campaign management, social media coordination, strategic communications, influencer/creator management, or related roles (a combination of shorter experiences and freelance work will also be considered).
- Experience working with social media content and an interest in supporting creators to improve their work.
- Good editorial skills: ability to structure messages clearly, review texts, and suggest improvements for clarity and engagement.
- Familiarity with social media platforms and content formats and a basic understanding of what can drive audience engagement.
- Strong organisational skills: planning, prioritisation, following up on tasks, and keeping track of multiple small processes at the same time.
- High sense of responsibility, accuracy, and care when communicating about sensitive topics, with a commitment to ethical and responsible communication.
- Languages: Romanian and English required; Russian is an advantage.
- Creative, collaborative mindset and openness to learning; experience working with influencers or as a content creator is a strong asset but not mandatory.
