Your tasks

We are seeking highly skilled and experienced External Consultants to join our project candidate pool. The ideal candidate will provide expert advice and solutions to our organization, leveraging their specialized knowledge and skills to improve our processes, solve problems, and achieve our strategic goals. Work includes a wide variety of activities across the areas of desk-research/analysis, solutions/approach conceptualization, deliverables preparation, stakeholder engagement and support during acquisition stage.

Typical roles (depending on the project and personal profile): Teamleader, Project Manager, Project Management Assistant, Technical Expert.

Your profile

We are seeking a candidate with min. Master's degree in environmental science, environmental engineering, chemical engineering, industrial engineering, waste management, economics, business development, social science, environmental law, policy science, or a related field. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the waste sector, public sector, circular economy, environmental sector, or similar domains, with a strong focus on waste management. Possessing extensive experience working in the Global South and managing responsibilities in environmental projects, such as Project Manager or Team Leader roles is highly desired but not mandatory. Furthermore, it is required to possess extensive experience in projects funded by official development assistance or other development cooperation initiatives.

The role requires excellent technical writing and reviewing skills, along with a strong understanding of industry-specific trends and best practices. The candidate must have excellent communication skills, interpersonal abilities, and be fluent in English, with fluency in other UN languages (e.g., Arabic, Chinese, French or Spanish) being desirable but not mandatory. The ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, complete tasks on time with minimal supervision, and achieve high-quality results quickly is essential. Additionally, the candidate should be adept at adapting to project constraints and resolving problems independently. Relevant certifications such as PMP or Six Sigma are a plus, and proficiency in software tools for data analysis, project management, and presentations (e.g., Microsoft Office, GIS, LCA software) is required.
