Job Summary
Working within the GRIE Engineering Department, this position is responsible for the following caliper engineering functions.
Principle Responsibilities
- Manage work activities within the Caliper engineering department and provide appropriate training to ensure quality and maximum productivity from the engineering team.
- Plan and direct the engineering design projects, direct multi-national cross-functional engineering teams to release new products, and timely fulfill market demands
- Ensure the Caliper engineering department has the latest software upgrades for improving 3D modeling and CAD efficiency, review drawings to ensure product design quality, consistency, and accuracy of engineering details
- Lead APQP, drawing, and component review, to fulfill PPAP requirements. Ensure all Caliper/component designs align with the manufacturing process. Review initial product samples to verify with the product specification to ensure quality delivery
- Capture opportunity via customer feedback, warranty analysis, and competitive benchmarking, drive continuous improvement in engineering process, product design, and quality.
- Develop customer contact with new business proposals with suppliers and ensure the quoting procedure is in a timely fashion for obtaining business
- Keeps management informed on caliper product status and any concerns from the Caliper engineering team member.

- Strong foundation in automotive engineering principles and application materials, with expertise in brake components (calipers, rotors, drums, and hardware), product design, and validation.

Education/Experience:
- Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Engineering
