As a Cabin Steward at Royal Scotsman, A Belmond Train, you are part of a team that provides exceptional housekeeping services to our guests. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that all guest areas and cabins aboard the luxury train are well maintained, carrying out back of house duties as well as completing all service preparation in a timely fashion. Primary Responsibilities Include:

  • This is a seasonal role which runs from March to November. This includes a 4-week training period prior to welcoming guests in April.
  • Providing excellent customer service to guests in accordance with Belmond and Leading Quality Assurance standards.
  • Cleaning guests’ cabins and public areas according to departmental standards, replacing beds with clean linen and adding guest amenities and collateral.
  • Assisting with general onboard duties, including greeting guests and helping with luggage.
  • Being fully conversant with all onboard services and housekeeping services and having a broader knowledge of the areas in which we operate and the Company portfolio.
  • Complying with all purchase and stock controls as directed by management.

Requirements

What You Bring:

  • Applicants must have eligibility to work in the UK.
  • 1-2 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably within the luxury hospitality industry. Hospitality qualification an advantage.
  • COSHH knowledge and awareness.
  • Knowledge of housekeeping operations, including cleaning practices, hygiene, safety & security, chemicals, cleaning equipment, bed-making, dusting, arranging guest supplies, etc.
  • Ability to work in high-pressure situations, to follow instructions and to work independently when required.
  • A team spirit, an ability to be proactive and an excellent eye for detail.
