The Buyer is responsible for sourcing high-quality goods at competitive prices, managing supplier relationships and optimizing inventory levels to support company growth and profitability.

Role and Responsibilities:

Responsible for processing production materials through all steps of the supply chain, both internally in our machining facility and externally at sub-contract suppliers.

Co-ordinate supplier schedules and ensure completion on time, to plan.

Provide updates to the programme lead on potential issues with production orders.

Support daily reviews.

Liaise with Engineering, Production and Quality departments regarding progress and issues.

Develop and maintain high quality trading relationships with suppliers.

Project-based materials ownership.

Provide accurate costing information and specifications from suppliers.

Supply chain development.

Negotiation of prices, terms and conditions to obtain the best quality supply and commercial agreement with suppliers.

Raise, monitor, progress and chase purchase orders.

Deliver quantifiable cost saving results without compromising quality.

Working with BOMs and updating internal work orders.

Moving and issuing materials to and within work orders.

Requirements

Previous working knowledge of buying, ideally within an aerospace and/or Engineering Manufacturing environment.

Strong understanding of purchasing techniques demonstrated through negotiation and managing the supply base.

Experience of sourcing complex machined components.

Computer literate and able to use Microsoft Office applications; strong Excel skills are essential.

Ideally experienced in using ERP systems, Microsoft Dynamics 365, preferred.

US Citizen or existing Green Card Holder due to our customer facilities access requirements.

Bachelor's or Associate's Degree in finance or supply chain is preferred.
