Chief Ethanol Fuels is seeking a Buyer to join the Chief Team. This position will be responsible for ensuring purchase orders are set up properly acquire necessary supplies, spare parts, and contracted services.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Order and maintain parts inventory to keep on hand the necessary equipment to maintain and repair the plant on a 24-hour basis. This is accomplished in part by reviewing demand and setting safety stocks based on historical data.
  • Build relationships with various suppliers.
  • Negotiate, renegotiate, and administer contracts for designated materials and services. Evaluate and monitor contract performance to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and to determine the need for changes.
  • Track contracts related to repair and construction work.
  • Work with Accounting to ensure purchase orders have been properly coded.
  • Monitor shipments to ensure that goods come in on time, and resolve problems related to undelivered goods.
  • Pick up shipments from offsite suppliers with a pickup truck.
  • Recommend process improvements for department.

Education:

  • High School diploma or GED, required.
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree, preferred.  

Qualifications and Skill Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of shipping or logistics experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment, with 1 year in a supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of shipping procedures, documentation and carrier systems.
  • Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
