At SumUp, we’re building the future of fintech and we’re doing it by empowering millions of small businesses around the world. From payments to finance to customer tools, our products simplify how entrepreneurs run their businesses every day.
Behind every great product is a strong operation. That’s where our Business Architecture team comes in. We design and improve the processes that keep SumUp fast, scalable, and human, even as we grow globally.
As a Business Process Intern, you won’t be on the sidelines. You’ll be part of a global fintech, working at the intersection of strategy, data, and operations, learning how real-world business decisions are made and implemented at scale. If you’re curious, analytical, and excited to learn how a high-growth company actually works — this is a huge opportunity.
Design how the business runs: Document and improve global operational workflows that support millions of merchants.
Find opportunities to improve: Use data and stakeholder feedback to spot bottlenecks and inefficiencies.
Turn complexity into clarity: Translate business needs into clear process maps (BPMN) and structured documentation.
Measure what matters: Track the impact of process changes through reports, insights, and simple dashboards.
Work cross-functionally: Collaborate with Support and Regional Operations to keep a unified view of the merchant journey.
You’re early in your career and ambitious: You’re studying or recently graduated in Business, Engineering, Economics, or a related field and want real exposure to a global fintech.
You love structure and problem-solving: You enjoy understanding how things work and figuring out how to make them better.
You’re comfortable with data: Excel feels familiar, and you’re curious to grow your analytical toolkit (Tableau or Salesforce is a bonus).
You’re a strong communicator: You like working with different teams and can explain ideas clearly and confidently.
You have a growth mindset: You’re curious, proactive, and excited to learn fast in a dynamic, ever-evolving environment.
This internship is a chance to build real skills, work on real problems, and kick-start your career inside a global fintech 🚀
If you’re ready to learn, contribute, and grow — we’d love to meet you.
