Role Overview
Serve as the CEO’s trusted partner who will execute strategic initiatives aligned with Spacecurve’s philosophy and business goals, seamlessly transitioning between high-level planning and hands-on oversight. With both a sharp Japanese and global mindset, you can inspire stakeholders, streamline processes, and lead projects critical to the success of our vision, for example retail expansion and fulfillment operations.
Key factors by which we select for this role are 1. your ability to quickly develop a sharp understanding of Spacecurve’s idealistic vision and to 2. contribute wise and creative solutions to our operational challenges based on your past experience of operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Be the trusted right-hand executor of the CEO and be able to represent his vision and energy to team and public
Bonus for COO level role: Be able to mentor and advice the CEO based on past operational wisdom gained from directly founding or growing startups or small to mid-sized companies
Be able to ideate about the future of the company with leadership, then go and execute it
Direct planning, buildout, and recruiting for our brick and mortar stores and future F&B projects
Set up and direct operations of our domestic and global product fulfillment chain
Direct continued buildout and maintenance of our design studio and office
Drive hiring operations by liaising with our internal and external recruiting team and help fine-tune hiring strategies with the CEO and other members
Liaise with our external accounting team to assist with financial strategy and year-end closings
Create financial calculations for new initiatives to assess their feasibility and to support the executive planning process
Flexibly jump in and out of any operational aspect of the company wherever tight oversight is needed
Develop and implement efficient administrative processes to optimize all areas of operation
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Ability to craft clean and tasteful presentations, reports, and other documents is required
Native Japanese, impeccable written/spoken English and significant international experience is required
Experience founding or growing a startup or successful small to mid-sized company is required
Experience working in a small to mid-sized interior or architecture design operation is a big plus
Experience working in a small to mid-sized luxury hospitality operation (hotel, restaurant) is a big plus
Experience of directly planning store layout for premium products and working with customer psychology to maximize both revenue and customer experience (e.g. Louis Vuitton, Apple) is a big plus
Strong technical abilities, e.g. setting up and configuring various software tools is a big plus
