As our Business Intelligence Manager, you will be the single owner of Toku’s BI function, operating across the entire organisation and reporting into the CFO. You will be accountable for the integrity, accuracy, and evolution of data used by Finance, Sales, Carrier Services, Business Operations, and Engineering—ensuring that business-critical decisions, invoicing, and reporting are driven by trusted, well-governed insights. This is a highly autonomous, hands-on role requiring technical capability, strong analytical judgment, and the confidence and experience to proactively propose scalable solutions rather than wait for direction. You will thrive in this role if you are comfortable owning complex data end-to-end, operating independently across teams, and holding a high bar for data quality and long-term efficiency.
What you will be doing
End-to-end BI ownership and accountability:
Act as the single source of truth for business intelligence across the organisation, with responsibility for data accuracy where it impacts invoicing, financial reporting, operational metrics, and executive decision-making.
Data modelling, marts, and technical delivery:
Design, evolve, and maintain business-facing data marts on Databricks (or related tooling), shaping raw inputs from data engineering into trusted analytical models. Work hands-on with SQL to validate pipelines, investigate anomalies, and ensure data remains accurate, timely, and fit for purpose.
Master data process and governance:
Establish and continuously improve processes and procedures for master data compilation, review, and approval—helping business users define data requirements clearly while improving data quality, consistency, and shared definitions across teams.
Dashboards, reporting, and insight delivery:
Own the creation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of dashboards and reports used by Finance, Sales, Carrier Services, Operations, and leadership. Ensure outputs remain relevant as the business scales, avoiding brittle or short-lived solutions.
Root-cause analysis and data quality management:
Lead deep investigations into upstream and downstream data issues, identifying systemic causes across systems and teams rather than applying superficial fixes. Maintain a strong governance mindset around definitions, timing, currency, and reporting standards.
Stakeholder partnership and translation:
Work closely with teams that operate with different priorities and vocabularies, translating business questions into structured data solutions. Assertively challenge requests when they conflict with data integrity or organisational standards.
Planning, delivery, and continuous improvement:
Structure BI work with clear scope, sequencing, and outcomes, balancing BAU stability with incremental improvements. Proactively identify areas for improvement and propose solutions that keep the current infrastructure operational while increasing long-term usefulness.
We’d love to hear from you if you have
Strong SQL expertise, with proven hands-on experience analysing, validating, and debugging complex datasets used across multiple business functions.
Hands-on experience with modern data platforms such as Databricks and/or Apache Spark, or equivalent platforms (e.g. Snowflake, BigQuery, Azure Synapse), including building and maintaining analytical data marts.
Strong dashboarding and reporting experience, delivering executive- and operational-level insights using Power BI or comparable BI tools.
Python capability appropriate to BI work — advanced Python skills are a bonus for this role, but candidates with lighter hands-on usage (reading, debugging, and extending existing logic) are acceptable.
Solid analytical Excel skills for reconciliation, validation, and exploratory analysis (not heavy financial modelling).
Clear end-to-end ownership mindset, with accountability for the accuracy, consistency, and usefulness of BI outputs consumed by business stakeholders.
A solution-oriented working style, demonstrating the ability to identify issues, propose improvements, and progress work independently with minimal supervision.
Strong business analysis skills, including requirements clarification, metric definition, and translating business needs into structured data solutions.
Practical project delivery discipline, able to plan, prioritise, and execute BI initiatives while balancing competing demands and timelines.
Experience with documentation and delivery tools such as Confluence and Jira (or similar), and familiarity with HubSpot (or similar CRM/reporting ecosystems) is a bonus.
Experience working across heterogeneous toolsets used by different teams (e.g. billing systems, CRM platforms, operational systems, finance tools), with the ability to adapt quickly rather than deep expertise in every platform.
Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Business Analysis, or a related analytical field, or equivalent practical experience.
