The Business Intelligence Manager is responsible for owning Civitech’s internal reporting, analytics, and performance insights across the organization. This role ensures leadership and functional teams have accurate, timely, and actionable data to support decision-making, operational planning, and accountability.
Reporting directly to the COO, this role sits at the intersection of data, operations, finance, and product. The ideal candidate is comfortable working across systems, translating business questions into clear metrics, and building reporting infrastructure that scales with the organization. This role requires strong analytical execution paired with systems thinking and clear communication.

What You Will Do:
Own Internal Reporting & Metrics
Serve as the single owner for Civitech’s internal reporting and business intelligence function
Define, document, and maintain core company metrics across revenue, operations, product usage, client success, and people operations
Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and trust across all executive and functional reporting
Build & Maintain Reporting Infrastructure
Design and maintain dashboards, reports, and data models used by leadership and functional teams
Partner with Operations, Finance, Product, and Client Success to align reporting with business goals
Improve and automate reporting workflows to reduce manual effort and increase reliability
Support Executive & Strategic Decision-Making
Produce regular executive-level reporting for the COO, CEO, and leadership team
Support planning cycles, forecasting, board materials, and operational reviews with clear data insights
Translate complex data into clear narratives and recommendations for non-technical audiences
Enable Functional Teams
Work with department leaders to understand their reporting needs and build tools that support accountability and performance
Help teams move from ad-hoc reporting toward standardized, self-service analytics where appropriate
Provide guidance on metric definitions, data interpretation, and analytical best practices
Data Governance & Quality
Establish and enforce standards for data definitions, documentation, and reporting hygiene
Identify gaps, inconsistencies, or risks in existing data pipelines and partner with technical teams to resolve them
About You:
4+ years of experience in business intelligence, analytics, data operations, or a closely related role
Advanced SQL proficiency with hands-on experience in Google BigQuery, including writing complex queries, optimizing performance, and validating data accuracy
Experience working across multiple business systems and data sources, including HubSpot (CRM), Gainsight (customer success), and project or work management tools such as Asana
Familiarity with SaaS metrics (ARR, churn, pipeline, usage analytics, etc.)
Demonstrated experience building and maintaining dashboards, reports, and data models using BI tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau or similar)
Strong ability to translate business and operational questions into clearly defined metrics, repeatable reporting, and actionable insights
Comfort partnering cross-functionally with Finance, Product, Sales, Marketing, and Client Success, and communicating findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
High attention to detail, strong data hygiene practices, and a clear sense of ownership over the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of internal reporting
Additional Qualifications (desired but not required):
Experience working in civic tech, political organizations, nonprofits, or mission-driven companies
