Business Intelligence Engineer (Contract)

**This is a 12‑month contract role. Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship. Minneapolis is the preferred onsite location. Nashville works as a second option. Plan to be in the office about four days per week.**

We are seeking a contract Business Intelligence Engineer to support critical reporting and analytics initiatives, including a July 1st full data integration milestone. This role is highly execution-focused and well suited for a self-directed, delivery-oriented contractor who can operate independently while collaborating effectively with business and technical partners.

Responsibilities 

• Design, build, and maintain dashboards and reports in Sigma Computing.

• Develop and optimize SQL-based data models in partnership with internal engineering and data teams.

• Translate business requirements into accurate, scalable reporting and analytics solutions.

• Collaborate with business analysts in Nashville to gather requirements and validate outputs.

• Support a hard July 1st reporting deadline tied to enterprise-wide data integration.

• Perform ad hoc analysis and data exploration for the U.S. Credit team.

• Document reporting logic, data definitions, and analytical processes for handoff and continuity.

• Automate recurring internal and external reports to improve reliability and reduce manual effort.

Qualifications 

• Strong SQL experience in a professional analytics or data role.

• Hands-on experience with BI/reporting tools, ideally Sigma Computing.

• Demonstrated ability to deliver end-to-end dashboards independently.

• Comfortable operating in a fast-moving, deadline-driven contract environment.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Tableau, Looker, Power BI, or similar BI platforms.

• Exposure to Snowflake and/or dbt (or ability to ramp up quickly).

• Experience working with financial, transactional, or product-based datasets.

• Familiarity with commercial real estate or investment-related analytics.

• Self-directed, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple priorities with minimal oversight.
