Business Intelligence and Data Analyst

Multigate is looking to hire a a Senior Data Engineer to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of our data infrastructure and analytics ecosystem in Azure. To be responsible for data ingestion, transformation, and warehousing to analytics, reporting, and business intelligence. Build scalable pipelines that power mission critical systems like payments, FX trades, and compliance reporting, ensuring data accuracy, availability, and insight generation across the organization.

The individual will work closely with stakeholders across various departments to understand their reporting needs, develop data solutions, shape our data strategy, and build solutions that directly impact decision-making and product performance and communicate findings effectively.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines using Azure services (Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, Data Lake, Databricks, and Azure SQL).
• Architect and manage a centralized data warehouse to unify data from multiple fintech systems including transactions, payments, FX, and customer data sources.
• Implement and maintain ETL/ELT processes to ensure reliable, clean, and well modeled data across environments.
• Build and maintain advanced Power BI dashboards and reports for business, regulatory, and operational insights.
• Collaborate with engineering, finance, and product teams to translate business requirements into technical data solutions.
• Implement data quality checks, validation rules, and governance standards to ensure data integrity and compliance (GDPR, PCI DSS, etc.).
• Optimize performance and cost of Azure-based data services, ensuring scalability and reliability.
• Lead initiatives in data automation, report optimization, and process improvement.
• Define and enforce data engineering best practices from naming conventions to CI/CD for data pipelines.
• Serve as the company’s go-to expert for all data-related needs, supporting analytics, KPIs, and operational decisions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Data Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in data engineering or analytics roles preferably in fintech, banking, or financial services.
• Proven hands-on experience with Azure Data Stack: o Azure Data Factory o Azure Synapse Analytics o Azure Databricks o Azure SQL / Data Lake Storage.
• Strong proficiency in SQL and Python for data processing and transformation.
• Experience in data warehouse design, dimensional modeling, and performance tuning.
• Expertise in Power BI including DAX, data modeling, custom visuals, and report optimization.
• Solid understanding of data governance, lineage, and security principles (especially for financial data).
• Familiarity with CI/CD, version control (Git), and infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, Bicep, or ARM).
• Excellent communication skills able to collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Required Skills

• Experience with event-driven or streaming data (Azure Event Hub, Kafka).
• Familiarity with financial or transactional data models (payments, FX, ledgers, settlements).
• Exposure to regulatory and compliance reporting (AML, KYC, audit trails).
• Experience integrating third-party APIs and data sources into data platforms.
