Business Development Representative

TLDR

Engage with sports administrators to enhance their organizations using SportsEngine software, conducting 80+ interactions daily.

This role is part of our Youth & Recreational Sports group, comprised of technology platforms such as SportsEngine HQ, SportsEngine MotionSportsEngine Play and SportsEngine Tourney. We enable athletes, parents, coaches and team administrators in the youth and recreational space to manage their organizations, collect payments, share schedules, find programs to participate in and connect with other families. Additionally, NCSI enables leagues and organizations to properly screen and train coaches in an effort to keep kids safe.  

Job Duties

  • Engage and consult with sports administrators to help them identify meaningful ways to improve their organizations with SportsEngine software.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the industry, sports administrators, our sales strategy, and leverage provided tech stack to execute high touch, high-quality activity cadence resulting in 80+ customer interactions daily. 
  • Create interest with customers directly via phone, email, text, video calls, and other forms of communication learning about their challenges, position our products as solutions, and ultimately create new selling opportunities.  
  • Continue to gain advanced product and market knowledge to differentiate yourself and SportsEngine as both a technical and business fit.  
  • Maintain accurate daily record of sales activity using Salesforce and sales engagement/automation platforms such as Outreach. 
  • Help develop and deliver outreach strategies to create sales opportunities
  • Other job‑related duties as assigned

Desired Qualifications:

  • Minimum of one year of sales experience
  • Proven ability to receive coaching and feedback and apply it effectively for continuous improvement
  • Strong independent judgment and time‑management skills to drive sales results within an assigned territory
  • Experience collaborating with and supporting team members across sales and other departments
  • Demonstrated sense of urgency, accountability, and ownership
  • Prior customer service, support, or client‑facing experience
  • Proficiency with Salesforce or comparable CRM platforms
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience
  • Familiarity with sales engagement tools such as Tout, Outreach, or SalesLoft

Additional Requirements:

  • Fully Remote: This position has been designated as fully remote, meaning that the position is expected to contribute from a non-VERSANT worksite, most commonly an employee’s residence. 
  • Willingness to travel and work overtime, including evenings and weekends, sometimes with short notice.

This position is eligible for company sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and a variety of other discounts and perks. Compensation:  $16.82/hour plus commission.
