The ideal candidate has successfully generated new business for a SaaS organization with a recurring revenue model, selling into large enterprise accounts in the healthcare space. This Business Development Representative is a proven prospector with a strong bias for action, crisp execution, and intellectual curiosity - driving deep product knowledge and the ability to generate, qualify, and nurture leads that convert into first meetings and pipeline. This role promotes and maintains a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner consistent with professional standards and forging strong relationships across the LeanTaaS team, customers, and prospects. A successful BDR establishes trust and collaboration internally and externally, positively influencing direction, strategy, and growth. You’ll be a key architect and driver of client acquisition and revenue acceleration. WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Engage directly with key decision makers including senior, director, VP, and C-level executives within our target market
  • Generate interest through phone conversations, personalized emails, and events - pre-qualifying and scheduling first meetings for the sales team
  • Consistently reach or exceed quarterly activity and meeting targets (e.g., dials, emails, meetings set)
  • Partner closely with Marketing and Sales to drive coordinated outreach and campaign follow-up
  • Execute territory plans and continuously refine outreach strategies to maximize pipeline creation
  • Use generative AI and other sales tools to improve prospecting efficiency and effectiveness (e.g., research, messaging, call prep, follow-up, sequencing), while maintaining high standards for accuracy, personalization, and professionalism
  • Travel to conferences and onsite meetings (up to 10%)
  • WHAT YOU'LL BRING
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of related experience, coupled with the experience outlined above
  • 2+ years of successful experience developing new business in a prospecting/outbound role
  • Experience working for a SaaS company; healthcare experience strongly preferred
  • Strong internal drive and ownership mindset - able to sustain high activity levels to drive results
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate gatekeepers, uncover the right stakeholders, and engage them effectively
  • Proficiency with Salesforce and modern sales tools (e.g., Salesloft or similar sales engagement platforms, ZoomInfo, LinkedIn)
  • Proficiency using generative AI tools responsibly to support the sales process (e.g., to accelerate research, create high-quality first drafts, personalize outreach, summarize notes, and improve follow-up), with sound judgment around data sensitivity and brand voice
  • Curiosity and a “learn-it-all” mindset - actively exploring new tools, workflows, and best practices to improve prospecting outcomes over time
  • Excellent phone and video presence; strong written communication across channels
  • Ability to make 20+ calls per day and track progress accurately and consistently
  • Willing and able to travel to conferences and onsite meetings (up to 10%)
