Work Schedule: This role is expected to align with the AU business hours (approx. 9 AM - 5 PM, Monday to Friday) for collaboration, but as a contractor, you’ll have flexibility in how you manage your time.

Who The Client Is: The client is an education recruitment company focused on making the hiring process easier and more effective for schools across Australia. They connect motivated educators with roles in schools across the country, keeping things personal and relationship-driven instead of transactional. Their approach blends thoughtful matching with ongoing support, so both schools and candidates feel confident throughout the process.

Role Overview: We are seeking a Business Development Representative (BDR) to drive our outbound engagement strategy by contacting schools we do not yet have service agreements with. The primary focus of this role is cold calling prospective clients to identify the decision-makers responsible for recruitment, obtain accurate contact details, and update our internal CRM systems to support future business development activity. This role plays a critical part in expanding our market presence and building the foundation for new client relationships. There will also be occasions where you may need to confidently respond to general enquiries from schools, ensuring every interaction reflects our professionalism and credibility.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Conduct outbound cold calls to schools without existing service agreements
  • Identify and engage the correct decision-makers responsible for recruitment
  • Gather and verify accurate contact details to support future sales activity
  • Update and maintain CRM records with clear, reliable information
  • Build early rapport and lay the groundwork for new client relationships
  • Support the expansion of market presence through consistent outbound outreach
  • Respond confidently to general enquiries from schools when required
  • Ensure all interactions reflect professionalism, credibility, and brand standards

Requirements

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Excellent, clear spoken English with a confident, professional phone manner
  • Proven experience in B2B cold calling
  • Able to engage decision-makers quickly and build rapport early in conversations
  • Comfortable handling objections in a calm, professional way
  • Confident, resilient, and a strong communicator
  • Proactive, articulate, and well organised in day-to-day work
  • Comfortable initiating conversations with senior stakeholders
  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date internal records

This is a remote role that will be set up as an independent contractor engagement.
