Senior Business Development Manager — Fire Protection (National)
We’re hiring a strategic Business Development leader to grow our national fire protection consulting business. You’ll sell and advise on engineering and life-safety services across the lifecycle — consulting, system design, testing & inspection, maintenance programs, and third-party certifications — while shaping go-to-market strategy and expanding our footprint with developers, REITs, architects and large property owners.
What you’ll do
- Own national GTM strategy for fire consulting and lead its execution.
- Source, qualify and close high-value opportunities; manage a pipeline from proposal to contract.
- Build and deepen relationships with developers, REITs, property owners, A/E firms and strategic partners.
- Shape proposals: scope, pricing, commercial terms and delivery plans that balance technical quality and margin.
- Coordinate with technical leaders and partner design/install firms to ensure profitable, on-time delivery.
- Identify upsell and recurring revenue opportunities (testing, maintenance, certifications) and expand service mix.
- Represent the company at industry events, code forums and executive client meetings.
You are
- A seasoned fire-protection or life-safety professional with proven success selling services (consulting, design, inspection, maintenance).
- Comfortable engaging at the C-suite and owner level and translating technical value into commercial outcomes.
- Able to operate effectively in ambiguity — you set strategy, iterate quickly, and drive measurable results.
- A strong collaborator who partners with technical teams, contractors and channel partners.
- Commercially savvy with excellent negotiation, presentation and proposal skills.
Requirements

- Deep familiarity with fire protection codes, standards and industry stakeholders.

- Proven ability to build and maintain strategic client relationships (developers, REITs, A/E, owners).
Nice to have
- Professional Engineer (PE) licensure or engineering background.
- Experience with third-party certification programs and recurring service revenue models.
- National accounts / multi-region rollout experience.
- Technical background in fire systems design, commissioning, or inspection.

- Unlimited PTO (manager-approved), covered travel & business expenses.
- Support for training, certifications and PE licensure.
- Bonus opportunity and relocation support (as applicable).
- A high-visibility role on a growth team where your commercial and technical leadership will shape the future of fire protection services.
