Business Development Manager (India Only)

About the Role

We are seeking a talented individual based out of India to join our team. As the Business Development Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving top-line revenue growth through new channel partnerships and leading implementation of key initiatives with our existing partners. Working closely with Woolf’s CEO and Director of Revenue, you will execute key revenue-driving initiatives that expand Woolf’s presence in India.

The ideal BDM is excited to be part of a fast-growing startup and has a proven track record of meeting exceptional b2b channel partnership targets. You must be both a self-starter with an entrepreneurial flair and a team player that is willing to roll up your sleeves, believing that “no task is too big or too small.” The role requires flexibility and resourcefulness, as well as excellent verbal and written communication and relationship-building skills.

Key Responsibilities

You will drive Woolf's future growth engine by building relationships with the fastest growing innovation educators across their organizational hierarchy and helping them to utilize the value of Woolf's platform for their businesses.

Commercial and Consultative Activities

  1. Channel Partnerships Development: Identifying, negotiating, and closing new channel partnerships to meet top-line monthly, quarterly and annual revenue targets.
  2. Client Consultation: Consult with client teams to optimize revenue streams and implement business solutions.

Operational Activities

  1. PMO with Academic Teams: Oversee project management with academic teams for implementation of our newest product.
  2. Channel Partnerships Tracker: Maintain and update a comprehensive channel partnerships tracker.
  3. Deck Making: Create pitch decks as per detailed requirements for prospective and existing partnerships, new products, review meetings.
  4. Data Collection: Gather data from academic partners for monthly revenue reports.
  5. Data Analysis: Conduct data analyses on marketing campaign performance, lead profiles, LSQ activities, and channel partner user bases.

Communication

  1. Formal Written Communication: Draft and disseminate formal communications with client and partner teams.
  2. Relationship Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with new and existing partners, ensuring excellent customer service for all partner

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from a reputable university; MBA is a plus
  • 5+ years of business development, channel partnerships, or strategy consulting experience, preferably in a startup or tech environment
  • Ability to navigate organizational structures to drive deals from discovery to close, maintaining multiple relationships and deal pace over the course of a sales cycle
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Exceptional negotiation and relationship-building skills
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Network of leaders in the education industry and/or international university partnerships
  • High EQ


Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience working with a complex SaaS product or service
  • Previous experience or demonstrated passion for higher education/edtech
  • Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt quickly to new circumstances
  • Experience with SQL, Excel, and data visualization tools
